This is fucking huge, thanks OP.
Blockstream is creating their liquid sidechain to provide liquidity between exchanges. This sidechain supports ring signatures so privacy can happen although it's optional. These means no more whale alerts when huge amounts of BTC or tether get transferred around. Or when a whale buys millions worth of tether we won't know if they want to hide it.
Although the privacy is optional....so if they want you to see it you can.
Unironically this is bullish. BTC is becoming more and more mainstream as a financial instrument.

>major players like china rolling out their own crypto, buying reserves of BTC

Crypto is quite literally killing the dominance of the USD and that is a fact. Do you really believe the rest of the world will simply continue with this absurd post-war arrangement that we've had? Countries like China and Russia (and all those aligned with them) are looking for an out. Crypto is one of those outs.
Monetary systems change every few decades and we've been long overdue for one.

>> No.15053657

Goys, this isn't about boomers or monetary policy. It's about one thing: profit.
If there is profit to be had ((they)) are all in.
((They)) will manipulate the laws to make all this legit if there are profits to be made. And there are. ((They)) are just getting started. If you can't see this you're a complete brainlet.
If you think monetary policy and financial laws are there to protect you, you would be dead wrong. The laws are there to make sure ((they)) can remain profitable and give them every advantage. ((They)) will not kill BTC, they are figuring out their angles to profit from it, and if that means changing laws so be it.

It’s ironic because they’ve used regulations over the past century to craft this whole gilded cage they control and now crypto doesn’t need to play by the same rules plus it’s much more difficult to freeze/seize. As far as appearances go, frankly it’s atleast partially the fault of institutions again because they have been fudding the living shit out of crypto since day one. It’s kind of similar to the left in the US being forced to lie and scream “racist!” whenever they get called out because they have no other option available that doesn’t involve relinquishing their power. I’m not sure a dark pool is good and I’m also skeptical that a partially private pool will not be compromised but ultimately I just want to see crypto force the hand of our legacy institutions because nothing else will.
