I'll help you out. Get a few glass jars of baby food. With the metal lids. Must be glass. Just empty and rinse them. Buy one or two whole fish. They must be whole. You need the guts. Night before you move out gut the fish. Put the guts in the empty jars of baby food...one third to one half full. Seal them with the lid. Put them somewhere they will not be found. Be creative. What will happen is in about one to two weeks depending on temperature the gasses from the decomposition will expand enough the jar will explode after you're long gone. The smell will never. Ever. Apply a very slow corrosive to hot water heater, score along the plumbing in some areas just enough that it bursts year or two later, find a way to hide heating elements and place between the fuse and circuit so that using the dryer/washer or bathroom fan is considerably more expensive. An ozone generator will have the smell eradicated over a weekend. While a brilliant prank it is better used on an adversary's dorm room than a landlord who will understand basic of basics in cleaning/home maintenance between tenants. Cleaning the ductwork of dust is more expensive than the cost of running an ozone generator for the weekend.
