Only 35k people can hold 10k.

with a mature network, most of the link will be held by node operators or will be staked. it will be actually needed to maintain network usage in the first place.

it will be much more scarce than it is now.

The general public will NEVER get it's hand on that Link. That is all going to institutions and large node operators.

Also it's not even possible for 35k people to own 10k anymore. Too many whales own more than 100k and a few owning 1MM Link now, reduce that number a bit more.

This is an interesting point. If most of the Link needs to be staked to run the network, then there has to be a lot of incentive to hold Link, rather than to sell it to get a greater ROI elsewhere. This would mean something like a 5-10% yearly ROI.
Let's say the MC goes all the way to a trillion dollars ($1000 per token): that means the networks has to generate $50 - 100 billion dollars in yearly profits to give a 5-10% ROI.

This is true BUT you have to realize that businesses/financial institutions will require the link network to simply run business processes. The ROI from staking will only be a small added benefit for them. They will also get payouts for operating nodes.
The real money that they save is from the amount of jobs/expenses smart contracts will cut from many industries. This number is potentially in the trillions.

Maybe. I wonder how much value those savings (and in what proportionality) will end up channeling through various blockchain networks, tokens and oracles (Link).
