Ok, wow, you really are an idiot.

Look, the purpose of decentralized platform is to eliminate middlemen, per your own words.

Lemme as you something

How in the world can you logically theorize that a centralized source of data can be connected to a decentralized platform without a middleman overseeing that data source constantly.

using a decentralized network for data means you don't need a team of people to overseeing that data to trigger the yoru so called "smart contract". The smart contract is useless without decentralized data.

For every reason you need a decentralized platform are the very same reasons you need decentralized data.

Got it yet? its about self executing digital agreements. Robots that handle contractual agreements. Automation without oversight.

hint: Centralized anything along the chain of smart contracts is a focal point of failure.

Centralized data means your smart contract is not really reliable. its a focal point of failure.

If the data goes down your smart contract is rendered useless.
if the data is comprised in any way your smart contract is useless.
If the data is false then your smart contract is useless.

What many don't seem to get yet is that Ethereum, a smartcontract, is a trigger. that is all. The data, computation of that data happens in the oracle layer and then written to the Ethereum chain. Cope.

> oversee the data
What exactly does that mean? It sounds very vague. If the data is the shit particles coming from my assholes to tell my insurance company whether I have cancer or not, would these oracles have to inspect my data to see that I am not lying? That I am not using some other persons poo? I am using my fucking private key to sign my shit data? Is that not enough? And why can you not build that logic into the smart contract? The contract first asks another contract about my mental state and whether I am likely to lie about my poo, if not, then I guess you can trust my signature. You haven't really thought this through have you? You are just part of the hivemind cult that operates here without any independent thought.

You're missing the big picture. Chainlink won't just be the decentralized oracle network, it'll likely be the largest one as well due to first mover advantage dabbing on upstarts and because it spent so much time getting partnerships rolling. Chainlink nodes probably won't even reveal themselves as such to the broader userbase, they'll just be the backend system to whatever user or firm wants to use it.

wow, i think you just went from idiot to full retard.

Ill keep it more simple foryou and offer you only partial reasons of why decentralized data is needed.

Like Oraclize, a centralized feed can experience outtage. Off-time. look it up.

This simple fact alone makes your smart-contract useless. Its unreliable. Thats why nobody is using smart-contracts up untill now that Chainlinks Mainnet is live and building. Why do you think googl, oracle and all its partnerships are happening now. Anyways back to spoon feeding the monkey.

Basically you have a robot that is doing work for you. once that data goes down, not only do you have to manually go in and hit the rest button. any disruption or time it takes for your centralized feed to come back online is money lost. Think about derivatives and trading. Think about price discovery needed for smartcontracts to execute in this field. 1mm to 5mm to an hour can cost traders millions. If this were to happen then whats the point of your smart contract?

This is only one small issue with centralized data feeds.

think anon think.

Let me see if you can grasp this. Each second every price feed will write to the blockchain. If no writes occur it means that the data cannot be part of the aggregated result. Then , over time the blockchain will be pruned. There, I just solved peice feed without chainlink in a much more efficient, secure and profitable manner.

You moron. You have too much ego here. We are trying to make you rich.

Put your ego aside and just ask yourself

why almost every project in crypto is coming out and integrating with Chainlink.

why Google and Oracle Corp are integrating Chainlink.

Ask yourself why Arie Juels would waste his time co-writing the whitepaper of a scam coin or bandaid solution.

Ask your self why you are still not gonna invest in something that has outpaced all the other coins by 10x.

Why bandaid solution can really go against the grain in a bear market and moon this hard.

Would a scam coin really garner this much interest from Coinbase Custudy who just yesterday announced supporting it for institutional and hedge fund investment.

Would Binance, recently, even bother offering LINK on Margin

Would the head of IBM blockchain bother stating publicly he invested in Chainlink?

But, lemme guess. your smarter then everyone.

Can someone explain to me why people still believe in altcoin season? Altcoins are dead; they have been obsoleted by Stablecoins. The vast majority of retail and institutional investors would rather have a Stablecoin worth $1 as a fixed store of value than an Altcoin whose worth can fluctuate between .00000001 and .001 bitcoin within the space of an hour. Stablecoins are ways to park Bitcoin profit, and reinvest in Bitcoin without risking your money on other speculative assets. Like, would you rather sell your stocks if you saw the market dropping, or exchange your stocks for derivatives? That's the difference between buying a stablecoin and buying an altcoin, and the risk-averse investor will choose the former every single time.

Bitcoin will regain 100% or 98% dominance of the crypto market by 2020 simply on the backs of stablecoins. All altcoins will die unless there is some specific use case for them, like VIDT or BAT, and even then they will be sold for Bitcoin or Stablecoin as soon as possible, meaning massive burning of any surviving alts. That doesn't mean you can't make money off alts in the short term, but sell before the New Year.

You say stablecoins aren't backed by anything? They're backed by the value of the issuing exchange, and its volume. If the exchange is deep, then it will see use and thus its nominal face value will approach or exceed its market value, similar to the US Dollar. If the exchange is shallow, the stablecoin will not survive a prolonged bear market. It doesn't matter if it s actually backed by USD/gold futures/BTC; what matters is that there is a perceived lesser risk.

In the face of the stablecoin revolution, there is simply no way for altcoin season to happen.

The only coin to 10x since the bear market and its still going.

Bitcoin will always be a great hold but will it always be king?

LINK will surpas Bitcoin in 5 years. Simply because the data market is far larger.

Think about it this way. There will always be many forms of money and Bitcoin will be one of them.

But there is only every going to be one decentralized oracle network just like there is only one internet, only one TCP/IP. It is the standard and the LINK token value will be the measure of data running through it.
