So some PhD holders in Stanford made a cryptocurrency mining app, called "Pi network" that's extremely user friendly. You just ping their servers from your phone, and they mine for 24hrs.

I think one of the bigger benifits of this is that referral codes just invite someone to your "team" and you all share a collective mining bonus depending on the members present. So there isn't some top guy getting the most benifit. If you join the group with my code, we both get a bonus. If you invite someone else with your own code, all 3 of us share that bonus, and so on.

Clarifying some disinformation that is being spread ITT:
>Pi is not mined by app users, it is a pre-mined token
>The App does consume miniscule amounts of power, approx 1-5 cents a year, depending on local prices
>though often implied, the size of the group whose member's code you use is irrelevant to you bonus (inviter gets +0,25 per invitee; invitee becomes a new inviter; repeat ad infinitum)

That being said: Pi is an interesting project, it is "free" money since token value can not be 0.00 $ and power consumption is negligible, halfing steps are being executed so the sooner you get in the more you can gain. Nobody knows where Pi will go ones it hits exchanges but it's as good as shot as any obscure shitcoin.
