The real answer is because it was first to market. Of course there will be tokens with better technology, they were made 8+ years after bitcoin. That's not to say lightning network is bad though, it's just being slowly adopted.

It's the same with any other tech or service. Superior products exist, but it takes a while for consumers to make the switch to something that isn't widely adopted. Anyone who thinks bitcoin will be overtaken in less than 3-4 years is delusional.

1_Oldest one
2_Low inflation
3_Highest hashrate due to the high fees
4_No pump and dump since most earlier miners and users simply lost their coins.
5_Biggest adoption of them all.
6_Used as the wire system of the developing and third world.
7_About to have less inflation than all fiat currencies next year.
8_Blockchain is only 260gb size after 10 years of operation due to the block limit meaning anyone can download and mine thus it's the most descentralized coin.
9_ 8 + 3 means that the blocklimit is indeed a blessing causing hashrate to grow non stop relative to other coins.

In short everything that people see as a weakness for bitcoin is in reality a strenght , bch and ltc are the second and third in line to gain power relative to btc in the next two years.

But pos memecoins will crash and die.

Exactly this is the great problem with monero , instead of a currency it can be used as a money laundering software.

Buy btc > buy monero > do a transaction > buy btc again.

It's a serious problem long term at least until cryptos don't establish themselves.
At least Monero is woke about this to a certain extent and they are playing long term , thus the infinite mining to guarantee a high hashrate in the 2030s if govs attack other cryptos.

It's been two years since the crypto craze, you really expect people to adopt new tokens by now?
Businesses who accept crypto won't bother with altcoins because it'll be less than .01%(no not 1%) of all their crypto transactions. Consumers won't bother buying said token because once they do it's like "ok I have said (shitcoin) but no one is accepting it, now what?" Never ending cycle.

Bitcoin isn't going to be toppled for a very long time. For one there are too many options of useless tokens. Which has the best tech, which will be widely adopted next? Once you see the total amount of tokens drop from the thousands to less than 100 you could see bitcoin having competition. Until then, it's the top dog.

No , btc game theory and halvings is what causes the price to rise.

Without that eth being centralized shit would have never pushed to for supply reductions.

The btc game theory forces them to do so , eth being first would mean that someone would have created a crypto with ltc or bch capabilities and with btc game theory after and completely destroyed eth.

I agree with you on most of your points. But I don't agree with point 6. Bitcoin is great, but for people living in third world countries and living on the margin already. For them, bitcoin is too volatile, same goes for the fees. For us, in the western world, it might not be much but for these guys, it could be the difference if they have food on the table or not. Venezuelans are doing the same shit they just send 1 sat transactions and wait.
It's riskier to keep the money in the banks or fiat at this point in places like this.

Go look localbitcoin volume per country , and you will see btc gaining adoption faster in shitholes than in stable democracies.

>It's going to be interesting to see Reserve protocol launching in Venezuela later this year, and see how this will impact people and small businesses.

Venezuelans are already heavy into btc and bch there are people there working as "cashiers" that bring you fiat when you send them btc or bch.

The bolivar has already fallen so btc is rising fast there.

In a purely asset sense Bitcoin is actually ALOT like Gold in many ways. Even though the origional creator(s) wanted it to be the standard "currency" of the future is wont be. It WILL however be the digial "gold" that you can put your money into to hold. The price will stabilize as the years go by.
