I went back in with $3k of that $11k which created the foundation of my current portfolio.

Before anyone asks, I was 17 back then and bought bitcoin because it sounded cool, I never saw it as an investment. I didn't even know what an investment was. In my head it was just a different way to buy shit online, which was the reason I just forgot about it in the first place.

Between May 2013 - Aug 2015 I put in about 5k and ended up with around 13 BTC or so after losing some on Gox

I found out about okcoin margin trading in late 2016 and was fortunate enough to ride the December 2016 rally from 800 to 1000 on leverage, made another 10 or so BTC in general there

Made some BTC in alts in 2017 but not much because I was far more cautious around alts than most.

All in all I ended up with about 35 BTC at peak, which I DCA'd out of throughout 2017. Sold too much too early but still got out at an average price of 5-6k USD. Paid tax on a gain of about 200k CAD in 2017, vast majority of which was pulled back to my bank accounts safely.

Bought about 10 below 4k in nov-Jan and I don't plan on selling those until 50-100k

Worst trade was probably buying the ICO for some terrible new media company / production called Back to Earth, put in 0.25 BTC when BTC was still below like 3k at like 11k sats per STRC (startoken) and by the time the piece of shit finally launched it traded at like 2k sats and pretty much never mooned, slowly amortized to near 0 before cryptopia finally shut down for good

Do you guys have any interesting anecdote about your beginnings in this crypto world? I remember that I slept very badly the first few nights, always thinking about my portfolio.

I was playing poker at a casino and got to talking with this 21 year old Asian kid about my business. Given the stakes we were playing he assumed correctly that I make a lot of money and asked me if I invest in BTC. I didn't know what it was so he showed me and discussed it with me for a couple hours. I did my own research for a few months, found this board, and bought most of my multiple BTC stack under 4000. That kid is getting an awesome gift from me when bitcoin reached ATH again.

I put in 5k on neo. Was estatic when it pumped to 40. Panic sold at 32 (it went to 100 afterwards). I lost half of my neo gains on shitcoins since I had no idea what I was doing. Still don't know much but i don't panic sell/buy anymore and I do alot more research before making decisions.
