no but if Coinbase offers staking without any LP shares, people would go there right?
LP shares returns are kinda based on there being a lot of people staking on a lot of nodes.

come on anyone expects coinbase to offer link staking soon or is that not realistic?

>> No.14572681

LP said they’d never control more than 10% of the link nodes anyway.

also, the market will be plenty big for everyones.

First, think about all the different markets that will use link. Now, think about plenty of use cases for each one of those markets. Now, think about that more than one node needs to serve each one of those use cases.

You retards seriousky don’t understand yet just how BIG this will be? Y’all honestly don’t realise just how many nodes we need, and how small the quantity of links staked on each node will be?

Just hold........

Sure, what you say is correct, but if an announcement from Coinbase came out today, then LP shares would drop like a rock.

Linkpool is part of the official Chainlink crew, they will be fine.

>> No.14573023

>>14572716
You sure? My guess is that link would most definitely pump and LP would follow the price.

If LP aims to be 10% of the link market, it’s easy to value it, no? (Hint: even though it currently seems way overvalued, it’s actually undervalued compared to link) or is it link that is overvalued? Who knows

LinkPool shares are a fucking scam, dude. LP is a legit project but the anons who bought the crowdsale are absolute scumbags who have basically controlled supply in order to rip people off. Anyone who paid more than 10 ETH per LP could have just bought LINK instead. Scammed as fuck, the whole group leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

>> No.14573074

everyone will be making money hand over first.

linkpool will do just fine.

>> No.14573097

>>14573059
not LPs fault that people bought shares?
>>14573023
link would pump, yes
LP shares would not pump if a giant competitor comes in. there wont be enough people even wanting to use LP shares anymore.

>> No.14573125

>>14573097
I'm not blaming LP, I'm saying the people that bought have acted like the worst pajeet scammers

>> No.14573128

But the price was 10 eth per LP a month ago.

The 4k link per LP token figure still sits fine.

>> No.14573200

>>14573097

Meh. I don’t think so. It would give more legitimacy to the whole network. Also, the whole point is to have a decentralised network. Why would LP promise never to control more than 10% if Coinbase could come and claim the whole network, rendering it untrustful?

Nice digits, 1776. Yes coinbase will liberate linkies from the link pool jew. 25% for staking your LINK will seem absolutely absurd in the future.

>> No.14573289

>>14573200
I agree with that aspect, no doubt, it's just the LP share price aspect. 4k link per LP token, ok. To stake a low amount of link(for the first 6-12 months). Fair enough.
but assuming Coinbase suddenly offers staking without any LP shares, maybe only with the 25% per month - who wouldn't convert their LP to 4k, 3, 2, .. then we're at like 5 ETH per LP.
(the LP crowdsale was funding, that Coinbase doesn't need)

just speculating. I hope you're right since I do hold LP, I just fail to see why people would stick around with LP. Sure LP offers a passive profit, share of all revenue (which was the main selling point), but depending on when in time coinbase enters the market,..

For when they do eth staking.

>> No.14573463

>>14573360
LP ETH staking you mean?
I heard it was a possibility. however, I'm mostly worried about my link and LP, and I just fail to see how a coinbase or (much less likely) binance announcement about allowing link staking wouldn't crash the LP price, atleast short term. Yes, there's % of all revenue vs just staking rewards, but selling LP would mean being able to get more link in the first place.

>> No.14573562

>>14573289

I mean, if LP controls 10% of the link nodes, then 1 LP = (links total revenues) / 10 / 4000

Like I said, simple to compute it’s value. Can’t really compare that to a simple staking service.

>> No.14573587

>>14573463
True that. Hard call, I'd like to sell my 2 LP on the next news pump and put more back into LINK. Wait for it to calm down.

But realistically they're probably the closest team to having a large staking node operational, and the early staking funds wallet release will probably make it worth the wait.

Don't know which way to swing on that one my dude.

>> No.14573868

>>14573587
Stil this all is based on Coinbase actually offering staking. within the soon timeframe.

>>14573562
I don't think it's that easy, it depends on the collateral (indirectly = size of jobs right)

>> No.14574151

Certus one just confirmed on Twitter they will offer staking of link token. Looks like coinbase will have no choice but to do that as well, if they a piece of the pie.
