What went wrong with this absolute scam ponzi?
I bought thsi shit in Nov 2017, made over 10x on it and bagheld till the "the rumour is true" shit and the cringe fucking Thor hammer show which I sold all my VEN after.

After that it just got even worse. every time i saw news it was increasingly obvious it was a fucking scam. X nodes forcing people to bag hold while they sold? token splits. marvel nodes. bullshit partnerships continuing. a fake insider pump and dumping in January. Misleading partnerships .
What the fuck is this bullshit. Now i read they are doing a "buyback". what kind of start up does any buy back? thats what mature global companies do.

Are there genuinely anyone still holding this? who and why

Everything they do is some tactic to pump up the price while they dump.

> Hold some X-Nodes otherwise you lose that status while we dump

> We gotta lottery going on, hold this and you can win some worthless VTHO while we dump

> Buybacks coming, hold this while we dump

> Look, I am Sunny Fucking Lu and I am buying at $4.00 VEN you should buy some more at these prices (dumps all over white boys)

I sold it all last week and split it between Bolt and Quant. There's about a 0% chance I won't make more money with those two coins (Quant, for sure) than if I just held this piece of shit coin. It's so heavily suppressed and it's probably because the primarily value of VET is to generate VTHO that enterprises will need for transactions so it's in their best interest if VET is cheap so there's not as much upfront investment to enter the VeChain ecosystem. I would not be remotely surprised if it's VeChain itself that keeps the price low for that reason.

What happened to Walmart?

Walmart partnership is real but it will have ZERO bearing on the price outside of driving hype. Hype can still increase the price, sure, but Walmart won't. Walmart needs VTHO for transactions, and they're either getting their VTHO through VeChain Foundation, or they have their own big VET stack to make the VTHO they need. There is no scenario where Walmart will regularly have to acquire VET, that's not what the token is used for. The ONLY WAY real world adoption will drive up the value of VET is if companies are entering the VeChain ecosystem every single day. Once-in-a-while partnerships won't do it because they'll buy their VET and that will be that for the entire life of that partnership.

Once I learned to separate the success of the VeChain ecosystem from the success of the price, I realized I had to sell my stack.

"enterprises" anon?
This is point of thread. There is no fucking usecase for it. Its there in existance to siphon money from faggots like a chink scam, all the token efforts are just that. token efforts. Some guys getting paid to use his connections to get walmart china division to SAY they will do a trial run. Shit like this is how it is working.

I dont even feel sorry for any retard who held this after feb 2018 when the above became clear

this guy gets it

it's a nice project and ecosystem, but the success of the project doesn't really have any impact on price of the token

similar situation with WTC: nice idea and the company is having some success with their hardware, but this doesn't really have much impact on price. That said, WTC is much cheaper right now, so I feel like WTC will have a nice pump over the next few weeks as redditards re-discover it. Then after this, both of these coins will finally slowly fade away.

Walmart is using the blockchain but not the token..therefore, does not have any effect on price

Walmart is using more vtho then the foundation can generate..sure they are sitting on large bags of vtho..but still they are burning through it and it's just 20% of Walmart will be using until eoy

Sure. But how does that impact VET's price? Walmart can't possibly acquire enough VET then to generate the VTHO they'd need, so they won't. And there's a limited and fixed supply of VET, so VTHO generation is a constant that's set independent of VET price. If there's not enough VTHO, then the Foundation either increases VTHO generation rates or lowers transaction cost...but again, how does that impact VET price?
