I had a promising future as a college senior majoring in finance. I had created a (surprisngly, profitable) e-Commerce business, had a happy social life, was in good shape, and overall was living a good existence.

Then, I heard about people getting rich off of Bitcoin back in August 2017. I then went on 4chan and soon after impulsively dumped my life savings into random ultra high risk technology startups because anon's on an underwater Filipino basket weaving forum used funny memes.

I was cocky. I thought I had made it. After all, I had just made hundreds of thousands of dollars, just by listening to memes. If only I knew how bad it would get...

During March 2018, I decided that I would put in all of my income from thereon out into crypto. I was making like 50k a year off my e-commerce gig by then, plus I was planning on getting a real job after school anyway.

During 2018, I developed a severe drinking problem (mainly due to crypto losses) which triggered an episode of bipolar depression, got fired from my first post college job, and moved back in with my parents by the end of the year. I had a fortune, and had effectively lost all of it. At a point, my only friends were here, on /biz/.

But despite all that, I still knew I was right, the memes were more than just memes. I checked out of the wagie world, spent time developing my business, and continued to put every spare penny that I had into crypto.

Over the next 6 months from December to June, I 5'xd my portfolio. I was finally able to move out of my parents house, again. I started to believe that maybe, just maybe, I could make it this time around.

To be continued.

I paid my taxes in full, and I plan to pay all future taxes in full on crypto gains. Suck my dick.
