Returning to crypto after almost 2 years. It looks like Binance and Bitfinex don't accept US customers and VPN = account autolock. Are there any good non-KYC exchanges? I'm just looking to swap BTC to hold alts, no margin trading needed.

Nah, bittrex has been dead the last 2 years because they refused to list decent tokens and I expect nothing to change. That's why binance is in its current position. Bittrex also blocks a lot of coins from US holders, NKN being one of the most notable examples.

I am US and have an unverified binance account. I have no restrictions so far. I have also used a VPN before to access it. Nothing happened. Although to be safe I've withdrew everything to personal wallets. But I used it today to buy some nano and it worked fine.

I used kucoin a lot in 2018, I tried to use it recently and it asked for a "trading pin," which I never set up. When I went to reset it, it took me to a KYC page... Didn't think too much about it just gave up and traded on binance.

Also whenever exchanges ask me if I'm american, I say no. I don't remember if binance did this, but I would have said no
