I spent well over 1000btc on the first silk road. had to delete the passwords to my old wallets - didnt have any bitcoin in them just made me so fucked up to see how much all the transactions we're worth now. I still have the asus monitor i bought from Roger Ver's memorydealer website for like 8 or 9 BTC. I remember buying a pound of weed for over 300btc back when btc was still less than $10.

I have managed to hold maybe a few percent of the total BTC i've spent in the 7 years. So i should be fine. I "made it" in 2017, then "lost it" in 2018 by leveraging my whole networth on small time frame trades, truly gambling. its amazing to be up or down 5 figures on a trade in the same hour. Also really good way to lose the majority of your funds which is what happened to me. Fortunately I gave it up just before losing everything and have way fucking less BTC than before the 2017 bull run - But will definitely "make it" again as long as i don't touch the majority of my BTC for a few years.

Reminder that .28 BTC means you own more than 99% of the population will ever have. It's likely going to be even more skewed due to vast inequality in BTC distribution and puts you close to the top .1%

I let my bank know before hand but they never said anything. most of the bank tellers after that asked me what it was all about which started to get really annoying - wires weren't coming from Russia though lol all from Coinbase at that time (early 2018). I'm positive those wires set off some alerts or whatever since the we're so large - but that just means you have to worry about reporting it properly on your taxes - the bank really doesn't care, some of the huge banks like wells fargo might i've heard few stories but my local bank didn't care at all. I just made sure to report everything and pay my capital gain taxes. haven't run into any problems so far
