What are the chances of finding a hard drive that contains cryptocurrency wallets on it? and what recovery data programs do you recommend, /biz/?

A guy offered me 80-150GB harddrives (46 of them) for 35$

Next to impossible. Even if you manage to break in, the wallet will still be encrypted

a key to maximizing your chances is only to buy harddrives which were manufactured in the 2007-2013 timeframe. anything too old is pointless, anything too new the owner knew they had something valuable so encrypted / destroyed. magic timeframe is autist playing with crypto 2010-2012
The various mandela effects that c i a and others have done to me leaves me incapable of remembering what the avg hd sizes were in that timeframe....150GB - 350GB?

Have you made sure these drives haven't been securely erased? If they've had even a simple high low pass you won't get much data if any from them

Waaait... isn't the 12 unique word code also placed in the wallet? It's a local wallet. When I made my wallet it kept my unique 12 word code in a PDF together with the QR code.

if you kept your private key or word code on your drive unencrypted, you're doing it wrong.
