But why? Why would you do the illogical and inefficient act of satisfying your body and ego with money you could otherwise efficiently reinvest for more money?

Spending them on stuff you don't need, while having the knowledge you should be doing the opposite, is a major sign that you don't have control over yourself and is in fact also penalized by having the money you have obtained be taken from you and redistributed to the system without you exercising any beneficial control.

If looked from a physical point of view, you're quite literally applying unnecessary entropy to your own system and having it (and the control it has accumulated) disperse faster.
