If your drug actually works, then 5 mil + 3% royalties is enough to live off for 20 years (or however long patents last for drugs). Sure you could make more managing sales yourself, but IMO the extra money isn't worth the time. Although, if running that kind of business is something you would find fulfilling, then go for it.


As for selling the diet, I don't think that would be an effective way to raise capital. I guess that would mean basically selling a book with meal plans? Seems like you wouldn't make nearly enough to start a small drug company. VC money sounds like a necessary starting point for your plan. You will still make a fuckload if it works though.
