Hey guys I have a question that I guess is in the category of price action, Level 2, and time and sales. You hear a lot of traders who are allegedly successful and consistently profitable say shit like "woah, the bids are getting hit that's a bearish sign!" but in order for the bids to be getting hit, someone has to be buying... so how can price transacting on the bids or offers ever be interpreted as bullish or bearish since someone is agreeing to sell 5000 units at the offer for example, just as much as someone is agreeing to buy 5000 units at the offer?

There's a lot in trading that doesn't seem to make any sense, not because it's especially complicated but because it seems to be based on premises that are akin to a pseudoscience. This was one of those things. Even on Level 2, the shit moves so fast and unpredictably that I highly suspect no one (or far fewer than people think) is actually deriving an edge from it, they're just using it as a safety blanket to leap into trades which in theory have a 50/50 chance of working anyway. I'd love to be proven wrong on either of these.

I'm focused on the long term with GALT
If you do DD on the science, the potential of galectin-3 inhibition is incredible (NASH cirrhosis, cancer, endometriosis, Alzheimer's), and GALT is the leader in galectin-3 science currently
It's also undervalued because their phase 2 NASH cirrhosis trial was poorly designed (wrong dosing, too short, failed to distinguish between compensated and decompensated cirrhosis), primary endpoint was HVPG reduction
The FDA guidelines for compensated NASH cirrhosis trials say that the primary endpoints for compensated NASH cirrhosis trials should be reduction in the development of complications related to cirrhotic decompensation, which GALT achieved in its phase 2 trial

We should get a good spike on NASH-RX protocol when it's released, or a possible surprise partnership/BO because of the Back Bay Life Sciences (the M&A firm GALT is working with) variable
The market cap is about 200 million right now, a 1 billion (roughly 5x premium or roughly $20 per share) price is very feasible in the event of a BO

when looking at a dividend stock there are a couple things I look at.

1. P/E ratio (or FFO for REITs)

2. Payout ratio. Unless its a REIT, I try to look for anything below 70%, depending on the business. If its below 40% even better.

3. CAGR = Compound Annual Growth Rate. Unless the dividend is growing year over year consistently, I usually won't get it. few exceptions include some high yields and TAP because I bought that solely due to my addiction to Coors Light.

4. The company's competitive moat. Although price appreciation is secondary for me, it is a benefit and a competitive moat and price appreciation = more likely to raise the dividend and have that dividend be around in 10, 20, 30, 40 years down the road. Longevity is key.

5. ETFs like NOBL are great, i prefer individual stocks. I have 25 in my portfolio and i'll likely increase that number to 40 over the next 5 years.

I'd go with a diversified weed play, cover all your bases. Nothing wrong with holding some TLRY here, but certainly not overweight.
I'm even moving into OTC US weed stocks, again not heavy plays, just getting some money in there

you'll probably see another chance to buy TLRY under $40

Nvidia doesn't have their own foundries, either, but they're doing fine.

Die shrinks cost a metric fuckton of money (IIRC, the development of the 7nm nod was 20+ billion $, and future cost for further die shrinks are even more expensive), so that's risk they don't have to carry. AMD is not in the position to do that kind of research right now.

And just look at Intel - they used to be the process leader until they fucked up so bad with 10 nm that they're 5+ years late with it - and still haven't released anything worth shit. This will cripple them for years to come. How shareholders haven't sued them into oblivion yet for this shit is beyond me.

But Intel is now lagging behind at 10nm and 7nm node, they might not even go for 5nm or 3nm node due to the exponential cost. me can answer that question because orderflow am how tradee
for some legitimacy for post, called heavy long before market opened today then called shorting near top in last thread

so anyways, yes your problem with "for every seller theres a buyer" the fundlementally eternally question of stock market
how you transcend this problem am watching how market reacts for sells / buys

now this where your issue of "shit moves so fast and unpredictably" comes in

1) you for sure need fast eye for this. closest equally know am FPS shooters! if you cant rank atleast atleast gaurdian in cs-go theen you probably not have what it takes for watch orderflow
if you cant distinguish between 120 FPS and 240 fps you prob not eye quick enough

2) you need alot of exp watching orderflow with alot of concentration, the "randomness" goes away the longer you watch

3) there are many pitfalls to orderflow like spoofers, iceburg orders, clever reloaders.
you will have be able distiguish between all of these

4) but once youve mastered this hard art of watching orderflow a CLEAR edge am unlocked for you
me say have atleast 5% edge because of ability for watch orderflow

a good introduction on what orderflow trading am are miltos videos, watch all of them to get better idea of what orderflow am

Huh. I don't like the fees associated with MF's, am probably going to switch my VTSMX to VTI in my ROTH soon. I didn't realize how high the fees were, way higher than VTSAX, which is higher than VTI.

It depresses me to think about all the compounding gains I've missed because of those fees.

I like the indexing approach, but I also like having more of an active role in my finances and life.

And the over-indexed nature of investing seem like it's setting up for someone to really exploit it and take advantage. So I'd rather increase my exposure to DIS, MO, and MRK.

Biotechs are catalyst-centric, highly volatile/manipulated, and risky
The real movements (either massive multibagger gains or catastrophic losses) come with news (clinical trial results and FDA approval/rejection being by far the most important news)
A lot of people think biotechs don't have fundamentals, but that's not true
Biotechs are companies that are attempting to develop one or multiple drugs and have them approved and brought to market
Whether they'll be approved depends on their clinical trial results (how well the drug works and how safe it is), which in turn depend on the science they have supporting their drug(s)

Biotech fundamentals are science and management (good management is also important to make sure they can design their trials right, get comprehensive patent protection, move strategically to maximize the value of the drug, and find ways to finance the development of the drug without raping shareholders with constant dilution and reverse splits)

Do that every day for a couple months and it's probably worth more in experience than most of these kids are learning in college these days.

Is Powell gonna be a good boy or is he gonna come out with some confusing nonsense and not cut? Questions.

>This guy was an airborne soldier? Aren’t they selective, isn’t that an advanced level?

He was wearing a 101st Airborne patch but it doesn't look like he was ever in that. News says he was a private first class infantryman for a total of 19 months. Doesn't say what kind of discharge he received.

airborne troops are definitely supposed to be selected from the more competent/intelligent soldiers. They receive better training and are meant to be a step above grunts but below rangers. I don't know if standards are slipping or what though, Ketchum the /k/ trap is apparently airborne too kek, peep his jump wings

Anyone else here in VSTM? Had a great week so far.

Hang on, I found it. Honorable discharge. He had never been deployed anywhere. Apparently he struggled with the training and test requirements, was stressed out, depressed.

Is Ketchum his real last name, or did he pick it instead of his dead name? Is he wearing eyeliner and lipgloss? I feel like this dude... really wants to get fucked in the mouth.

>>14225531
This guy could really have used some peterson. Went down the real pathetic /pol/ route instead.

I own VTSMX and have lost many gains in fees as a result.

I am debating switching from VTSMX intk VTSAX, but I don’t know if I should create that “taxable event”

I’m probably not going to make any money this year though, just going to school, so maybe I should go ahead and do it?

Thanks. I've been in since early March. Averaged down to $1.88, so I'm close to being even. I think longterm it's going to be a big money maker, but yeah, having my money tied up was a bummer.
