American pit bulls were bred to select for the bite type, a reflex to bite and clench.

>American pit bulls were bred to select for the bite type, a reflex to bite and clench.
yeah the bulldog part was for the nice biting jaw
the terrier portion of the mix was for the violent instincts

Pit bulls were bred about 100 years ago specifically to be fighting dogs.
Imagine how amused some of those early pitbull breeders and fight organizers would be to see the modern pit bull. They spent generations breeding the dog to be a good fighter, so that it could kill other dogs without too much training. And now, hundred of thousands of the dogs in family houses, and groups and websites devoted to arguing that they aren't any more violent than normal dogs.
You know how hard it would be to start dog-fighting with 98% of dog breeds? most would have a very difficult time physically killing other dogs of their same breed (lots of bleed-out), and would of take years of training to fight on command. Most dogs don't want to fight, pits were bred for it. And now 100 years later there are people pretending they are just normal dogs.

I mean look at this VICIOUS fucker right here

in an emergency just kick it in the side of the head as hard as you can

or if your arm or hand is being bit, drop knee them in the lower jar as hard as you can
it will cause them to bight you slightly harder (as your knee hits their throat or jaw) but they will stop biting instantly, since dogs have lower jaws like glass (compared to a hard human knee)
or a fast knee to the throat will make them let go so that they can actually breathe

anything sharp to their nose works too, but that requires aim, which you may lack when you feel the pain of being bitten

what were they before any of that shit?
Also, what's a war risk premium? Is it some kind of insurance coverage fee they have to pay every time they enter there?

The Joint War Committee, a group that advises insurers, designated the entire Persian Gulf and waters just outside it a so-called Listed Area after the incidents a month ago.
- Classification gives underwriters room to charge more.
- As of Thursday, owners were reluctant to send vessels to the region while there was also a dearth of cargoes, according to traders and shipbrokers involved in that market, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

It was pretty much the exact same feeling as the vivid dreams you have when you have a 103+ degree fever, I thought I was in the house I lived in when I was a kid. I had all these childhood friends around me but I couldn't make myself understood, then suddenly they were gone. read about the 2014 protests:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_Hong_Kong_protests

same thing. The CCP is trying to establish more control over HK in any way possible and the people of HK protest to try and prevent it. It's not all some crazy CIA-backed conspiracy, they currently are self-governing and don't want to be controlled by China. It probably won't last forever. But there isn't anything about it to call a false flag.

This; take for example the '1776', the Amerimutt Rebellion. American "Patriots" (those Americans that were loyalists are erased by Whig history of Progress) sided with the treasonous Whigs in Britain and France against the Tories & King, and "loyalists" at American soil.

They didn't fucking whine and moralize over 'foreign collusion' back then when American "Patriots" where getting help from France to rebel, unjustly, against the King.

most Russian nuc plants are analog control, very minor digital control (maybe some safety PLCs).

Everything at Nuc plant control systems, even the ones with software control, should be air-gapped by design. and it might not be windows software, or even linux. depends.

there will be an office network with access to the internet at large, that's what things like the cameras would be on.
but the only way to really get any code into a nuc control system would be live, on-site.

AND just like any good safety system there will be hardwired redundant safeties to whatever software safeties. at a nuc plant, at least two levels of hardwired redundancy for a SCRAM, probably more

But I don't think China will "take over completely". i mean limiting downside is something you could study for years
buying puts can fully hedge any sudden downturn, no matter how much the underlying/correlated goes down. but if you just crab sideways, you will just lose money on the puts
Selling calls doesn't do that, if the underlying goes down a bunch it still sucks for you, the call premium doesn't cushion you that much
you can combine the two strategies (and others) for full spectrum hedging, but if you don't do it as a full time job with a very large cross-asset portfolio I wouldn't worry about getting that complex.

>If your current living situation wasn't a constraint, and you could go to any country, do you think you might chose to leave HK?
If without constraint, I am sure most people living in Hong Kong would choose to leave. Even back in 1997 it was humorously stated, but not without truth, that all people who can leave have already leave, and those who are left behind in the city are those that wanted to leave but cannot leave.
Before communist party established PRC, Hong Kong only have about 1 Million citizens. Now there are 7 Million. Where do you think most people come from? Most of them were escaping from the communist party rule. Do you think all these people will merrily celebrate the coming of PRC?
>It seems to be that their intention sometime, eventually, is to take over HK completely (and eventually the rest of Asia...)
I would say that will occurs sometimes in the future, not that much faraway
>They might be as controlled and patient as you say, over many generations. But if they get impatient, it seems that things in HK could change very quickly, leaving the citizens there without much time to react
It is not because "controlled and patient" that only do so under table, they have actual need to pretend Hong Kong have its own autonomy so that it can be used to do tasks that are not convenience for them to do themselves. It will also make organizations like UN and so listen to their bs and avoid interfering (well, not that they have the power to)

Don't forget countries like Laos, Cambodia, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, they are also Asian countries, and they're already heavily being affected
For your examples, yes Japan won't be that easily influenced, but "Asia except Japan" is already kinda established nowadays so they probably doesn't count
ROK isn't that much hard to be influenced, you can see how much South Korea were shaken by PRC's boycott during the THAAD incident, although their government still stand by the US's side and just let Chinese government attention span on the event lapse, but if they want more from South Korea then this will not works again. In fact I think they might be even more easily swinged than DPRK.
As for Singapore, they are even smaller than Hong Kong, sure, China's lack of legal legitimacy/authority on them, and their distabce was already that faraway m, but these factors won't stop China from trying and that have already been noted by Singaporean government.
If you want to count Asian countries that resist Chinese influence, I guess you can count Mongolia (Outer) and Vietnam, because otherwise they wouldn't become independent

my opinion:

there are PRC/CCP influences in HK trying to influence people not to go along with the protests, and to accept the Chinese influence in their government.
There are probably also CIA/etc. elements to influence people to protest against it.

these days, there is influence on everything, especially on social media/high traffic internet places.

so it will somewhat cancel out in the end in this case, the Chinese internet activism is certainly as strong as what the CIA can project. In the case of something like Libya, then sure the CIA can influence more sway than the local state.

I think one of the objective of Chinese policies nowadays is to re-frame the world economy system, from a US-centric one to a Chinese-centric one, and that's probably what the entire Belt and road project is all about. But I don't think that's their ultimate goal. I think their uktimate goal is just that by growing their own economy system at the expense of the western world lead economy sustem, they will have more rooms to profit from it, have more international influence, and as others follows their way of doing thing they will also get fewer and fewer criticism from around the world, given that people who can voice this kind of opposition in affected countries will be suppressed, while those that are in countries not affected by it would become insignificant as those countries will lost their modern significant in a China-centric economic system if they can successfully create that

Rate cut was #priced-In, we're in the old damned if he do, damned if he don't. If and only if the board votes to maintain current rates will the markets react positively. This will also put pressure on bond yields to increase and value of the dollar to decrease as more money flows into equities and we see less capital inflow to the bond markets. I think the safest play of the week would be a max leveraged long gold position. Since gold will preform well and continue its surge if the above is true. However you all know Uncle Powell, sometimes this mother fucker just rapes the market so he can line his own pockets with extra shekels.

It's very crabby right now (for the last 36 months an continuing)
so look for yields AND earnings growth along with a solid balance sheet.
look for equities prices to go sideways, but some equities will pay a decent div during that time.

It's a tough one, because we have the baby boomers coming.

I loaded up on CAH, ABC, and MKC when they were at 52 week lows.
Politically, those positions could get all fucked up

you just have to guess at the odds and put your money down
Healthcare providers are different across the board. There are insurance companies like UNH, simple product suppliers like CAH, and biotechs in the research phase like GALT. so you have to place your guesses and bets accordingly. Do your research.

man aliens are a trippy subject. mostly you have to imagine that they might not be on our same physical scale, or physical at all. aliens might be so weird that we can't even sense them. I really like MChrighton Sphere for some very light alien touching -> into realization. very good book, and for that, unparalleled. so fucking good.

down ~2.9% straight-up, but OK from there depending on other news
