because "better ETH" is the slogan of:
XLM, ADA, EOS, IOTA, ATOM, NEO, XEM, HOT, WAVES, ZIL, KMD, ICX, AION, NULS, FTM

its literally just another 3 letters on a long line of coins that weren't first movers, and wont overtake the king first mover smart contract platform
same reason no "better BTC" overtake BTC

It's a cheap hashgraph clone, just wait for the real thing to launch

>> No.14078580

>>14078542
Wrong. This is taking Andre Cronje years of research at sikoba on aBFT consensus. It shares similarities to hashgraph but isn't a clone.

Hashgraph will be a permissionned system whereas anyone will be able to deploy on fantom.

>>14078532
aBFT, and gossip about gossip is a significant advancement in consensus algo which give fantom truly next gen properties whereas icx, neo, ada were more like mid generation improvements.

Myspace and AOL had first mover advantage and are nowhere today. Ethereum is a platform for issuing securities, and not much else. It is run by naively auspicious children who have written a check their ass cant cash

People FUD this but buy into crap like LINK, coin metro, LIT, Matic, One, Vidt, Red Pulse, Bomb, BSC etc.

This is why only a small fraction of people in this place will make it and the rest will be holding bags

Will be hard to replace ETH. Bitcoin wont be difficult to replace at all.

>> No.14078875

>>14078825
I think it's the other way around. BTC is valuable because of its accumulated hashing power securing the network and its anti fragile nature. The longer it exists, the more it continues to prove itself as a secure immutable ledger.

ETH on the other hand is as valuable as its ability to facilitate a distributed world supercomputer for the excution of smart contracts at scale.. kinda hard when all nodes need into work on the same problem at once.

With aBFT and the fast VM, every single node works on a different problem at once. With technically unlimited parallel processing, all you need is more nides for more parallel processing. Sharding becomes irrelevant then.

>> No.14078921

>>14078875
This. Sharding is a bandaid solution to an inherently flawed architecture

Here is the abriged story of Fantom.

Some chinks created an ICO with no intention of doing shit
Those same chinks openly scam most of the money out of the pool
They pay some white dude to write a bunch of code for a couple months
They use chink whales to PnD the project with new white face who now has a significant bag of this shit
> you are here
Imagine the rest

Without broad adoption any distributed ledger is vulnerable. Byzantine fault tolerance assumes attackers will ddos you and partition the network and basically control the internet, and this requires by default >2/3 honest actors. In PoW this means no pool should have >33% of the hashrate, and in PoS no group has >33% of the stake. Either way, you need to bootstrap the network and move carefully and slowly, these things aren't like little js webapps, there is actual capital on the line.

>gossip about gossip is invented by Lemon Baird

noone solved how to bootstrap (kick-start) dag and all cons they bring to table:
Needs a lot of traffic before it can start operating.
Decrease in network traffic renders network vulnerable to attacks.

Thats why sc dags are awfull idea aBFT and the fast VM cant help there...
