Oh look another kool-aid drinking cultist.

>When it comes to cryptocurrencies there’s an additional factor: It’s a bubble, but it’s also something of a cult, whose initiates are given to paranoid fantasies about evil governments stealing all their money (as opposed to private hackers, who have stolen a remarkably high proportion of extant cryptocurrency tokens). Journalists who write skeptically about Bitcoin tell me that no other subject generates as much hate mail.

>So no, my barber shouldn’t buy Bitcoin. This will end badly, and the sooner it does, the better.

>> No.14026643

lmao what a fucking retard. Bitcoin isn't the only cryptocurrency.

He has a good point though. Bitcoin is more like a $100 dollar bill due to the transaction fees. But that is being solved right now. The black market shit is vastly overstated too since bitcoin doesn't really provide any anonymity - whole blockchain is transparent. Monero on the other hand has a focus on anonymity, and yet it's seldom accepted in the "black market", even though it should be a gold standard by now by his logic.

He also forgot to mention with bitcoin you can literally move 1 billion dollars with a fee of like $10.
Good luck doing ANYTHING close to it with. Banks will take much more than that. And it won't take just a couple of hours like with bitcoin, it will take days, weeks, perhaps months. You will have to deal with bureaucracy. And god help you if you move the money from like some asian contry to US. Frozen funds guranteed and then probably court battles. In the virtual cryptographic space, there's no courts. There's no banks. There's no countries. As long as you can connect to internet, you got your funds. Simple. There's no banks to control or close your account. Your funds, as long as you own the key, are absolutely safe. No one can control your money. You decide. A bank can't arbitrarily freeze your account. Government can't seize funds from it. It's a self-sustained decentralized ecosystem based on cryptography.
Whether you're a billionaire, millionaire, upper class, middle class or poor this is all beneficial to you. Inflation with cryptocurrency doesn't exist. Countries can't dictate you anymore how much your money is worth - the people decide. Your money is safe from country's stupid policies, since your money is not connected to any country and so on and so forth. If you don't see the possibilities this enables to all people all around the globe you're a fool.

Some people also talk about tax evasion. Really? People can do the same fucking shit with cash(which is more anonymous than bitcoin) Tax evasion isn't caught by controlling money but rather noticeable income. IRS won't visit you until you after you own a couple of cars and houses. As a matter of fact you can probably amass like $500k in your bank account without anybody noticing as long as you don't do it suddenly and no one will know. Look up bank policies. Again NOTICEABLE income. Or you can get paid in cash. Being paid in crypto would be no different, and last time I heard, it's completely legal to get paid in cash, no? So, how would cryptocurrencies thwart that process exactly?

Don't get me wrong. Many governments would love to ban cash, but they know that this would be stating they're now a police state. But in the tax department it changes nothing. It's even beneficial for many corrupt government officials. The only thing that truly changes in this context with crypto is...... no need for banks anymore. No need for federal reserve. No need for central banks who decide what you should do with your money. That's why bankers hate it and why they speak so against it.

One day cryptocurrency will be probably the only major currency available. Just like all inventions, they go through the ridicule stage. This happened to the internet. This happened to the invention of electricity...
First they laugh at you. Then, they fight you, Then, you win.

Crypto is a warm, fucking blanket falling over the whole 10-20 individual machines running the world today. It's entirely global. There's no borders here. There are not special times. Or dates, holidays, anything to close off of. It's global, let that sink in... globally, 365-24/7. THAT. is what we crave as the whole human race. The internet exposed our commonality.

If you're American, European, Chinese, Japanese, and all the other races, you've been exposed to your own limitations via your nations GDP. Your business ventures, up until now have been solely funded by people of your own race. All the metrics are based off America exclusively, China exclusively, like drips of water falling into separate buckets. Imagine dumping all those individual buckets into a pool and started pumping a hose into it, THAT's what is growing right before our eyes. The fear-mongering that runs rampant over the idea of crypto stems from DECADES of mistrust between nations. All the wars fought between each other for valuable resources, all the lives lost, the mistakes, the tragedies... it makes it hard to trust someone living on the otherside of the planet when their ancestors tried to eradicate your bloodline. But, yet again, the internet has exposed those prerogatives to be government driven agendas. And we as a human race, think its total fucking bullshit. We're wising up to the fact that we don't need to be governed the way society has BEEN telling us for centuries.
