Are hardware wallets a meme? I'm such a newfag that I still keep my coins on an exchange but I have long term holds (you know the one) that I want to keep off exchanges and maybe "lose". I hear paper wallet maximalists all the time and am currently DMOR on hardware wallets but I hear a lot of people talk about how unsecured they are, is it true? Looking into the Ledger Nano S

If they were unsecure Ledger and Trezor would be out of business by now.
They make holding coins very easy and provide a simple off the shelf secure solution for most people. The /g/ autists just like to get on here and fud hardware wallets to brag about their unhackable air gapped live boot virtual machine with dual paper wallet multisigs so they can feel better about their miserable basement dwelling existences.

Thank you friendo, I just want a secure way to not lose my stinkies in the next few years. Maybe I'll do a split of both, keep half in a paper wallet and half in a ledger after doing a test transfer first
