13858033 No.13858033 [Reply] [Original]

Okay anons, so here is my story. I shorted at 8k and lost everything on that run to 8.8k yesterday. I mean...everything. we dont have to talk about the reasons why I shorted, also I dont want to hear how stupid I am for not putting a SL. I shorted with cross leverage and got overwhelmed by the power and speed of this run, I thought it would bounce back from 8.2k, 8.4k., 8.6k...until I saw the liquidation message. I lost more than 5 BTC, all my funds and savings were in this. the bullrun started and I fucked it up, my last chance of making it and I fucked it up. my question is..what to do now anons? starting from zero and slowly accumulate bitcoin till the next bullrun ~2025? I have no money to spend on it, maybe $100 a month. or should I just unironically kms?

Stop looking for advices here. You'll most likely just get shilling and stupid replies. Actually, stop visiting this site. I do it once a week and I feel it's a waste of time already.

I've been in the same spot as you. I'm not rich, and lost a lot to liquidation on mex. Once 8 btc at once. All I had. I'm 28 too. Money is gone. Get over it. You're healthy. This is the best advice I can give you: be grateful for you are healthy, this is really the greatest joy and you'll only be grateful for that when you see people close to you not being healthy anymore.

Invest smart and rebuild your networth. You most likely are from a 1st world country like most here (not me) so this should be even easier for you. Killing yourself over this is very very stupid. Man up. All the best.

I can tell you from personal experience about what happened to me once and maybe you can find some solace in it.

At the age of 19 I had accumulated $12,000. It might not seem like a ton of money, but for a 19 year old kid it was my entire net worth. I was proud of it. And I thought I was a trading god.

I threw a short down with a x10 leverage because I was positive on the market direction. I was a god, I don’t need a stop loss, I knew what I was doing.

The trade was profitable at first. Then it started swinging the other way. My position was quickly at -20%. I told myself not to panic, it was going back to my entry and at that point I’ll exit the position as I didn’t want to press my luck.

I had to watch in horror as my position went from -20%, to -50%, and -75%. I can’t exit it now, this is my entire net worth. I had to keep the position open. And then the liquidation message came. Just like that the net worth I spent over a year building disappeared in less then an hour.

I felt physically sick. I couldn’t handle it. I wanted to cry, scream, shout etc. it was very difficult to stomach for the first week or so. But you know what happened? I realized my life didn’t change for the worst. I still had my friends and family and that $12k was just a number on a screen. It was like losing a big game, you feel awful and disappointed at first but eventually the feeing of despair fades. And from there, I started from scratch again. Started building up slowly, but surely. Most importantly, I learned from it. I no longer treat finacial markets like a roulette wheel.

It’s going to sting for a bit. You will look at your portfolio’s value and you will compare it to what you had and what could have been, but eventually you’ll reach the mark again where you once were, and eventually pass it. You can treat this as a valuable learning experience if you so chose to go down that route.

See, my situation is even worse than yours.
Therefore, I might not have a right to speak here, but I will do, because I don't care and like to share my opinion.

You made a mistake in putting all your wealth into leverage trading OP. always diversify, lower your risk. Put some in bitcoin, some in potential 5x-10x coins, maybe some stocks and use the rest for trading.

Anyway, I hope you learned from this experience, so you will be more careful next time.
Build up your wealth again OP. Slowly, but surely, start taking more risks again when you can handle the losses.

look at it this way:
if you didn't lose this 40k now, you'd have lost it in the future. clearly you were gullible in this area. it's ok. most people are. the only way you can lose with btc is by losing it. if you didn't have this wakeup call now, you'd have lost it later.

you are way ahead, not only of all those people who are also at 0 but have no idea where crypto is going yet, but also ahead of those who have a considerable sum in crypto but haven't lost yet and still waiting to learn your lesson
you WILL make it if you stand strong.

Don't forget all you anons, this is what greed gets you in the end.

Sure, you might win a few trades maybe even have an entire year of success. But people who get overconfident will lose and it will only take a few bad trades in a row. Or if you're stupid one really bad trade
