maybe it's different in your country. i'm in USA. here, ortho's are the low iq brainlets of the surgical specialties. they don't know fucking anything about medicine lmao. they can't even manage diabetes or pneumonia and will have to consult out to the medicine service for basically every patient.
they're not the best surgeons either. i guess they're good at resetting bones and shit, but for any procedure that can be done by a different specialty like vascular or trauma, the other docs seem to do it much better.
that being said, ortho docs make like a gazillion dollars here, so maybe they're the only smart ones among us.

If done right it works, but there have to be lines drawn somewhere. Illnesses which dont affect yiur activities of daily living or aren't causing you debilitating pain are pushed way down in priority. Public dermatology is a nightmare, and most run off to the private hospitals.

Also you get it clogged with people with no regard for their health, or hypochondriacs, etc.

A good balanced two tier system is nice IMO. Plus in single payer the staff are essentially civil servants, so youll always be battling for extra hours worked etc ad the stupid admin and "efficiency" consultants fight tooth and nail to keep overheads i.e staff low. Cant talk properly about it as on phone.

America needs to sort out its primary care first. It had some great advancements in cardio/ rad/ onc with cutting edge tech, but its hole in the bucket is front of line primary care. People don't go doc because too expensive etc and eventually disease workers required exponential more services and treatment i.e money.

If youre wealthy its fine I guess

I just graduated with a finance and econ double major, and just starting my job hunt now. I don't think i'll have much trouble finding a decent job, but i'm also not trying to become some kind of hedge fund wolf of wall st. type. I'm just looking for a normal business job to get started with. If i'm successful maybe i'll make a thread on here in a few months and give advice to any youngsters.

Not only that but they have a huge enforcement arm that prevents competition to saving lives.
They disenfranchise the free market and then spend 99% of their energy googling things.
Doctors are scum but technology will save us.

Lol all these STEMies complaining about their jobs. Try being a humanities cuck. Spent my entire post college years drifting around jobs that don't even require a high school diploma. Somehow I've found myself in a union job making asphalt and will soon be sitting at a desk handling sales making (hopefully) $33 CAD +overtime, but with winters off.

It was the biggest waste of my god damn time. Four years down the drain, a worthless degree, and debt. Wow, thanks. That was totally worth it. The worst part is that it was forced onto most of us.

It hurts bros. I feel like I'm playing catch up. Should have just moved to Alberta when I was 18 and taken a trade. I know with my mentality I'd have saved a shit load of money and be 3 or 4 times ahead of where I'm at right now.

I'm a chartered tax advisor here in UK.

I worked for the government for 6 years after uni and took all their free training, then worked in private Big 4 for 1 years before bailing the fuck out to a mid-size firm.

I literally just sit with my feet up half the time. I bill £200 for regurgitating tax law from memory to clients. Sometimes I read up any new and interesting cases, but 99% of the time it is just a client about to sign a big contract and wanting to dot the i's and cross the t's on any tax issues, usually there are none. I have my own fucking office on the 17th floor with a nice view over the city after working for 7 years in open plan fucking shitholes.

I'd say I work maybe 4 hours a day in an 8 hour shift, the rest of the time I read news, crypto, chans etc. It is comfy as fuck, I'll hole up here until my 90,000 LINK stack moons and I can quit waging for good aged 29.

In the Accounting world, the UK is pretty based and comfy in their line of work. Most people know about the CPAs here who make bank in corporate & public accounting but the big 4 in the UK gets you paid well.

I spent a few years in big 4 before finding a comfy job in banking.

That's exactly what happened to one of my coworkers who worked at a factory with me. He went to school for communications and I was too nice to tell him that it was a useless degree. He ended up coming back after graduation, at least they gave him a sales position but it's still a shitty job.
