I agree. There's a reason that only a handful of people on /biz/ make it every bull run. It's because the vast majority are mindless drones that buy whatever they see. I don't buy into projects until I've scrutinised every aspect. The team, what the project is about, what have they actually made, their social media channel including telegram and discord. The average person doesn't fine tooth comb potential investments like they should and they get burned over and over.
