when you click buy, it puts you in a long position and when you are in profit you close the position. clicking sell does the same thing but as the price of the asset goes down, you make profit. leverage lets you use 100x the amount of capital that you are trading with so your profits/losses are 100x more massive. losing all of your capital is called "being liquidated"

More or less. Like if you only have 1 ETH, if you have x100 leverage you're loaned 99 ETH making a total of 100. When you close your position you get to keep the profits (minus fee). If it goes up 50% for example and you longed, if you had only 1 ETH you get 1.5 ETH worth in $ compared to your starting position. With a x100 leverage you get 100 * 1.5 = 150 ETH worth in $.

But, and that important, if the market goes 1/leverage % in the wrong direction from starting price be it buy or sell you're liquidated. In the case of a x100, if a 1% move in the wrong direction happens you're REKT.

I haven't done any margin trading myself but that's how I understood it, so if I'm wrong please correct me.

ty, still figuring it out
>>13821177
how do I set leverage? on their site it says automatically it sets it for you
does that mean I can increase the amount of ETH I want to buy as long as my margin stays alright?
is that how leverage is working?
they liquidate if the balance you hold becomes equal to your P/L, I understand that much
does that mean you buy the asset and then hold it to sell for a higher price at a later date?
and your purchasing power can be x100 but then that narrows the band of stop loss and take profit setpoints you can establish?
how can I see a band and distribution of possibilities that are updated livetime while I punch in the inputs I want?
it is not readily available on their exchange platform
all I can see is tracking the price via candle sticks and indicators
I want to see the figures and band of possibilities change livetime as I run through a range of inputs to find optimal risk/gain entrypoints
>>13821148
>so you are buying eth at 248.76...and you get liquidated if it goes below 246.80? Or no
something like that
the order executed in my favour at a measly 964 sat profit
how can I project this potential ahead of time given the boundary conditions I set with my stop loss and take profit setpoints?

now I am carrying 1ETH on the line

how does the leverage factor in giving my overall balance of 0.1btc?

via the entry book loss and profit boundaries (measured in satoshis) you can establish loss and profits you are comfortable with to close out your position (whether up or down, you set for both cases)
this way you control your risk to losing satoshis on a bad deal while optimizing it for potentially gaining satoshis on a good deal
very great trading dimensions are available in this case, can't believe I didn't realize this sooner

yes, you can click the x on the right of the trade info and it will open a dialogue for market closing the position. you can also double click on the trade and adjust your stop loss and take profit

>>13821772
no, and the fee is .05% of the position size so at 100x ends up being 5% of the amount of margin you used. this fee is charged for opening and closing the trade so it totals 10% of your margin. this means that you will need eth to go up 2% (on a long) for you to break even from trading fees.
