Can we have a serious talk for a second here guys. How the hell does a person develop the insight to pick out stocks like this that reach lows of less than one dollar that eventually rebound? I've gone through the links in the sticky, done research on plenty of companies, but I still dont know how to pick out these kind of things aside from sheer luck. It also doesnt help that a number of these tickers are for companies I dont even hear about until they've already recovered. How can you tell when stock is due for a pop?

I bought some Activision at $42.
I think Blizzard is going to do something like or with Overwatch in the next couple years, and I don't expect ATVI to drop below $40.
Its like they won't have a presence at E3 this year and the price may droop there a tiny bit.
If there's a surprise appearance then they might get bumped up a bit.

Looking at it as a long term investment right now but if any anomalies pop up its more than likely they'll be positive.

I sold some calls.. sold some puts and bought more shares..

It's unreal.. LCI is turning around and everytime shorts go to cover they realize the only people that have been on the offer is them... they're holding out expecting some major news but LCI just keeps coming out with good news.. this is crazy..

Imo the CFO leaving is a good thing.. they should be replacing old management which they have been doing.. the new CEO Tim Crew has a lot of experience and is doing an aggressive job when it comes to turning LCI around... I don't think it's just my shilling I think that LCI coming out with all this news has just been validating some of the things i've been pointing out..

So I started fucking around with Robinhood. I've no done no real research and basically Yahoo finance articles. I'm down about 200 but overall because initially I was messing with Penny stocks. Which turns out to be retarded with a basic RH account imo. I ate the loss on some thing and overhauled my portfolio.

Anyway I'd just like some general advice or we're I maybe wasting time and what is worth holding on too. As you will see I am a complete casual but I think a heavy focus on dividends is the right idea.

>How the hell does a person develop the insight to pick out stocks like this that reach lows of less than one dollar that eventually rebound?
The short answer is you can’t. You can get skills(and people will argue heavily on what constitutes this) to increase your odds at making good pics. Eg looking at p/e, company growth, evaluating their market share and factors that will change in the future etc. etc. etc. etc. but at the end of the day stock prices are where they because of consensus. If a stock is $1.00 and everyone knows it will be $100 next year then the stock won’t be $1.00 cause people will scramble to buy. It’s 100% worth a buy anywhere up to $97.00(cause of inflation taking 3% a year). So this shit isn’t easy and there are thousands of guys out there been doing this for a long time. Market becomes increasing efficient overtime and tech has certainly helped.
In short you need info others don’t have or have stronger hands/patience than others. Eg everone knows microsoft will 99% chance of being one of the biggest companies 5 or even 80 years from now. The farther down the road the less that is priced in because of patience and harder to predict.
You can buy only s&p500 the rest of your life and get 12% annual return on average for ex. Most people just arent patient.
miracles happen but without having a lot of insight making 1000% plays of penny stocks would be impossible. You’d need to buy 1000 penny stocks to reliably find one pumping x1000. Shit is gambling. Maybe better odds than casino but still gambling. If you do like gambling this is probably a better way to go than a casino which just literally robs you. And in this game knowledge can increase your odds considerably. But as a general rule companies stock tumbling is a huge red flag the company is a piece of shit and the world is filled with lots of shitty companies they rarely make redemption stories even when they seem like they can

You might think it's a bit shady but I've used this place for years. It's a bucket shop but they make more than enough money on maintenance fees for margin. They do forex and limited stocks but you'll find blue chips and such on it. Their platform requires that every trade entered must have a stop loss when you open it which is a very good habit to have. They used to offer crazy leverage on forex and I had a lot of fun playing with that but sadly it's gone now.

Not true. I agree newly made stuff probably. Problem is manufacturing process. My 77 vette getting 9mpg is better on the environment than a prius. Why? Because it’s 30 years old and simply made. The pollution per year is small. Modern manufacturing is 10,000(yeah i made it up) times worse now. People need to stop buying new cars. Even if they run on fucking magic just building the damn things every year is fucking awful on the planet. And the process isn’t getting cleaner. Like that fucking battery factory nasa rents to test their moon rovers cause there area is so dead its “the most moon like conditions”.
Modernizing old cars(recycling) would be the best for the planet. But corps only care about making money and exploiting. You could even take old care, make them safer and change power train to something electric or algae gas or whatever...
I’m too autistic to buy into muh environmentalism memes no one in power cares and their is plenty of evidence to support it.

the reason biodiesel is theoretically the greenest form of fuel is because the algae that are cultivated for this purpose use the carbon emissions for their development. it also lacks sulphur and can be used by the traditional combustion engine. like I said, the only reason why it isn't being used is because the oil companies make it unprofitable. I agree that modern manufacturing is probably less environment friendly, hopefully the figure out how to solve the battery problem.

Maybe I should explain more.
I never have anything take more than 2% of my portfolio(as a general rule), more like a guidline and it more strickly relates to individual stocks. Strong companies that will stand the test of time and ETFs will get more %, I have coca-cola at like 5%. think I’m at nothing at all being over 10%. I do etfs but i honestly just choose a bunch of indiv. stocks i think are the top ones plus i play some general etfs like s&p500 and some 2 and triple leveraged etfs long term.
I never let any idividual bio-tech or medical take much. Risky stuff gets 1% max unless I’m feeling frisky. If i think something is a x10 or more i usually just buy a few shares that is i predict right I would make a couple hundred bucks. I don’t bet much on these plays at all.
I have nothing in my IRA sadly but when i get like an 40-80k brokerage account I’ll probably just start maxing my IRA the rest of my life. All my money is theoretically money I could need so I’m playing things safe. I’m young so if i play it safe the number should work out for me.
