It could go either way. Some people have a cult like devotion to XRP's success, some people have a fanatic hatred for it. I only have a small investment in it, so I definitely want it to succeed but if it doesn't, oh well.

Admittedly, it has its potential roadblocks. Whether it will be considered an asset or not, whether or not it sees widespread adoption with banks will determine its success. There's also the issue of the company itself owning a lot of its own coin and having a lot of control over it. Those are the cons.

Every other coin has roadblocks that could make or break it as well, what XRP really has going for it in my mind, is the team. There have been hundreds of shitcoins developed by basement programmers, some of them straight up scams, many of them just worthless, some used to trade illegal goods, these are all things holding back crypto. What people see in the Ripple company is a trustworthy team and a legitimate case for using its tech.
