Dont. Its painfully obvious that VR is a meme at this point. I have been telling people this since Faceberg bought occulus. Nobody believed me. Mark my words, outside of drone enthusiasts, VR will never see mass adoption in any industry.

Youre joking, right? Did you buy Zuckerbergs bullshit? Nobody will choose VR goggles over traditional skype. It just makes the process less convenient.

Well yeah, sure but... How many people outside of 4chan even want this?

Dont get me wrong, I tried VR, it was pretty cool. I dont have the urge to ever try it again. The coolness factor doesnt outweigh the hassle, or the price. Its a meme that will never make you any money.

Meanwhile I'm here enjoying the shit of my VR headset, and that's on a generation of devices that will seem laughably bad in a decade. I have no doubt that VR will grow a shitload and I struggle to understand how anyone that has tried it can think otherwise.

What did mass adoption do to the internet?
It ruined it.
VR remaining a patricians form of entertainment will only enhance it.

>Youre joking, right? Did you buy Zuckerbergs bullshit? Nobody will choose VR goggles over traditional skype. It just makes the process less convenient.

The social aspect of VR is way better than you think it is. It genuinely feels like going out clubbing and drink with your friends. Its especially good in terms of getting a real experience that is not possible with skype. Its on another level by far.

> Well yeah, sure but... How many people outside of 4chan even want this?

Is this bait? because this is kinda like saying the only people interested in porn are on 4chan.

> Dont get me wrong, I tried VR, it was pretty cool. I dont have the urge to ever try it again. The coolness factor doesnt outweigh the hassle, or the price. Its a meme that will never make you any money.

The social aspect is insanely better than you seem to think. You probably played some dinky fucking FPS or shitty 4 dollar RPG and thought that was the experience. The real experience is when you get into more involve social circles and see the sub culture first hand. Full body trackers and high quality avatars for example. Also its an endless pit of infinite content for streaming. It will probably stay a subculture for awhile but god damn is it better than most people are even ready for.

>VR remaining a patricians form of entertainment will only enhance it.

I can kind of agree with this actually. Basically its a subculture right now, a niche where normies are kinda missing the boat.

I can see it being pretty good for on the job training like what Walmart might do.

Its also really good for people who usually sit on their asses programming 24/7 and get no exercise. If you do your work in VR you can walk around and actually move your body to do shit.

>> No.13739167

I have psvr and there are some great games for it. However, I can only play for like an hour max until the headset becomes uncomfortable, but i have a big ass head so that could be why.

kek, the blue haird whale is more likely to larp as a super attractive kitsune with giant boobs and get attention as though she is super attractive. VR seems to completely change the rules in terms of who is attractive vs who isn't. Gender dysphoria is rampant in VR because everyone ends up being a super cute 100k poly female.

>delusional VR fanboys who cant see past their own love for the tech
VR will likely always fill a small niche for enthusiasts(like yourselves) the general public, however, gives ZERO fucks. Chads and Stacys dont want to pretend to go clubbing, they want to go clubbing. VR socializing only appeals to aspies. VR vidya is going to be a tiny market. It might not seem like it to you, but most people dont like being COMPLETELY isolated from the real world. They enjoy their escapism but VR headsets add an extra layer of of complexity, and inconvenience that doesnt make it appealing for more than a few uses to most people. For hobby drones, it actually provides real utility, which is why that will be its most saturated market. Vidya is a normie hobby now, it wont see much adoption, just some hardcore enthusiasts.

But dont listen to me. What does the market think? This shit has been out for a while now, and its actually pretty developed already. How much support for VR have you seen? There were a few major games that supported it in the beginning(Skyrim, Batman, etc). Now, there is still support for it, but the advertising for VR development is practically non-existent. It already failed to launch.

VR has been life changing for me for the last 2 years so I am kinda gushing. Its been a hell of a ride and I honestly feel like this shit is Bitcoin in 2010 levels right now. Nobody really knows what its like until they really take advantage of it. Its going to feel like a shitty gimmick for most people. The social aspect where you can literally be hanging out with people and mod community fusion drives things way further.

I think you are severely underestimating both the potential of VR and how normies can adapt to it. There are simple too many things it can do, both for productivity/efficiency, and entertainment, that people will have little choice but to take advantage of.

>Chads and Stacys dont want to pretend to go clubbing, they want to go clubbing
To me this sounds like someone from the 80's saying "Chads and Stacys don't want to pretend to talk to each other, they want to talk to each other", as a way to dismiss the future of the cell phone market.

Not really desu. It's actually really rudimentary. For example, haptics are basically nonexistant and the most sophisticated tracking is six points.

Its definitely a lot more than that, in terms of socializing I will often hang out with people who are singing and playing guitar in ways where it feels like going to a show. They can stand on stage. There is dancing and creativity. People draw pictures together. There are musicians and streamers, often with large followings that I have hung out with or met causally. It fills in a hell of a lot of gaps that I think are missing in most peoples lives these days.

Its too interactive to be compared to TV.

it will, the technology is just not there yet, its close though, it needs foveated rendering as the cost of a gaming rig capable of running good VR games is just too high right now, when we have foveated rendering and the overall price of a VR set decreases it will become very mainstream.
