They hold that the election of Pope John XXIII (23rd... I wonder what that could mean...) was illegitimate and the result of Judeo-Masonic collusion with soviet agents. This resulted in a modernization of church doctrine and paved the way for Vatican II. They think cardinal Siri was actually elected but was intimidated by B'nai B'rith agents. I don't believe that, but John XXIII was certainly a zionist communist at best and something truly evil at worst. So I'd put the potential risk at 25%. Those aren't bad odds, but like I said, I'd prefer not to support war.

before Vat2? Nah. they had some shadiness of course, but there ahs always been some shadiness in the church
Vat2 ENSHRINED the idea that the church should be following and reacting to the world, and not the other way around
If you don't understand how destructive Vat2 was to the position the church had in the western world, you don't understand it. Now I'm not saying that the church wouldn't have declined over the last 50 years, it would have. But it's the ultimate betrayal that all the way back in the 60's, BEFORE the 70's, the church already admitted defeat. The 'true church of god' just said "Ok, we give up, all these things outside the church are just as important as the teachings of the church" to the outside world.

OK let's get the real rundown on your market timing
Now I'm just gonna say, I think you are too young to have been around much in 2000, 2008, etc. So it's hard to take your word on crashes seriously if you've never really tasted the blood in your mouth. I don't actually know how old you are, but you post like a bit of a zoomer pseud. but in a good way.

Now let me know: did you already exit this market (sell equities)? if so, when? if not, what are your trigger(s) for various sell points?

Do you acknowledge that the trade war happening late cycle with such a strong international/political component effects STRONGLY the fine timings of a possible market decline, or do you see those types of events as less significant compared to overall cycle timing (inevitability)?

Relatively minimal? So what if only 1% of localities do it(or less). Most people in the country lives in a handful of places. If you look close the past few years you’ll see plenty of cases of voter/election fraud and Trump has made damn sure the feds are on this as much as possible(when they weren't before). Trump will 100% win and I’d bet my life savings on it

There is a reason incumbents generally have a 90% chance of winning an election, they control the field more than opponents do.

I've basically drawn down my equities over the last year. Originally I had holdings in Cracker Barrel, Verisk, and Dollar General. The good think about using the yield curve as a guide is that it gives you plenty of time to find a decent price to sell at. I made really good profit off both cracker barrel and dollar general.

The trade war does effect timing, if Trump goes through with these tariffs we'll see a recession on the order of 3 months instead of a year. I am willing to wait a year and a little more, though, if I have to. My position is very stable with only 10% in inverse ETFs while everything else is now in actual government bonds.

Just be real about it. It's really easy to post some disconnected pseudo-intellectual macro indicator BS, you might as well have a little blog and be charging $5/month subscription to 5 readers like all the other market timing experts out there.

But this is /smg/, not SA or ZH or StockTwits. I'm gonna ask you when you sold. You don't have to reply, but why is anyone going to take your ultra-smart backtest stock market crash avoidance strategy if it exits too early?
basically the thing about the stock market is it doesn't matter who is 'right' or who is 'wrong'. there is no right and wrong.

The important thing to think about right now, in this moment:
what rules of the past still hold, and continue to effect the market the same way they did in previous cycles?
in what ways is this cycle different from previous cycles?

now no one knows until it's over. But this market is wildly, unbelievably different from previous markets. In such a way that your indicators might not be worth much: even if they are 'right' directional, they could mis-time badly enough to ping your strat.

And of course for all the 'this time it's different, some things always stay the same. Sometimes things really stay the same in a way that's surprising, old things come back that people thought had been engineered out. That's all I'm gonna say about that one ;-)

>Most scientific advancements even under capitalism came from govt funding/academia.

very recently, if you talk about high-energy physics stuff, yes. But back to the biotech you were demonizing: no. Advancements in materials, communication, computation etc. are all coming from private R&D. if you limit 'scientific advancement' to 'running questionably useful particle accelerator tests at CERN or RHIC', then yes.
If you think about launching rockets more efficiently, the government had decades to do that. Well guess who is doing it.

>I'll think about this post ever time some incredibly simple electronic device breaks the fuck down because of planned obselesence. [sic]

again, the great thing about the free market is choice. You can choose what to buy. I haven't bought a new cell phone or TV in almost a decade. I haven't had anything go planned obsolescence on me. But it's all base on the choices I make when I buy things :)

I'm only on biz maybe a week out of every two months, anon. I'm not trying to do anything extraordinary, just maintain my wealth until a crash happens. Those numbers also don't include any dividend or interest payments I got back.
