Everyone on here is a brainlet ifbthey believe gold and silver are worthless, they never have been and never will be.

The only reason banks broke away for the gold and silver standard was so they could print money endlessly and enslave people in fake debts.

Crypto has the right idea, but only so many people are gonna value it, and the majority of people aren't going to trust it.

Gold and silver are innately valued, at any point in time, all over the world. Good on you for investing in true value.

Underrated post. People need think about the economic value of an object when looking at this shit. The point is the only way we can value this thing currently is because we measure it against dollars. When we can't use dolla bills as a way to determine it's real value, what value does it really hold. Is an ounce of gold worth a bottle of water, a gallon of gas, a tug job or what? You may think in your mind it's worth a lot more than someone else so you place a higher value on it, where the next person or the world does not value it like you. In this case your rocks are now worth less than you thought and their economic value has gone down.

how much would it cost to the gold from those planets retard? I think we should strip mine the entire universe, but to suggest cost to get these materials, launch a rocket, build a mining equipment, bring is back, mine it, crush it up and bring it for earth use(we would never bring back mined asteroids to earth anyway, delta v savings of building off earth are much better) would be in the near 100s and 100s of billions. fuck , it may cost 1trillion just to build out a proper mining operation to get the rock and all the chemicals needed to separate the various metals from each other.
and then you;re talking about maybe being feasible at 50k to 100k an ounce.

to really state how retarded you are
the japanese HAYABUSA mission to go just go collect samples from a shit tier asteroid cost 400million dollars, which was 150million over budget.
which would work out to 9.5 tonnes or 4 average sized cars,JUST to break even and we arent even talking about specialized drilling equipment needed to drill, break and bring several tonnes worth of rock back for earth use to be refined.

No, all money has always been "fake" and its value is decided entirely on good faith and backing of governing bodies.

Gold is massively overvalued. Its "value" one of oldest memes because it looks "pretty", easy as fuck to extract and doesn't easily corrode.
