I wasn't here during the last bull run. What were those days like? Was everyone happy?

>> No.13600535

It was total chaos. Mostly just a bunch of caps lock posts about what’s mooning while anons frantically try to swing. It was not as happy as you would think. Very few among biz actually made money.

People would show off their blockfolios, but mostly it was threads about flavor of the month shitcoins. Every shitcoin would have their own group of threads like LINK and everyone was trying to shill that their coin was going to moon most. Others would argue over staying in btc or whatever altcoin. Overall people were happy but somehow there were still people losing money, usually on shitcoins that pumped and dumped

EVERYONE was right back then. It was impossible to lose money. Anything you picked would double in price in a few days at the longest. You had coins going x3 in a matter of hours. You had coins going x20 in a week. You had coins like XVG going from 10k marketcap to 4B marketcap.

I think there's a much bigger difference in the world outside of crypto now than 2017.

2017 everything was euphoric and somewhat peaceful in the world and in hindsight speculation was rampant in crypto and stocks...

Now it feels more like crypto is unironically acting like a life boat for some countries. There are more monetary worries and growth worries are coming true globally. This could be a stretch but it almost feels like what it would have been if bitcorn was around in 2008. It's a bit creepy to think this way

In summer every few weeks there was a huge opportunity. It felt like it would never end. In the winter it got too popular. This board became the fastest (mostly r/thedonald members). Everything mooned. This may sound comfy but it wasn't. It just showed illiterates had entered the arena and a huge crash was inevitable

Here's some non-retarded historical context:

The bull market officially began with the breakout to ~500 in Nov 2015. We rode the 20 week moving average up the entire way, with multiple tests and re-tests. Most people only caught on in 2017 but by that time the bull market was already over a year old. Note the increasing rate of ascent

We've likely now completed the bottoming from the 2018 bear market and are back at the "Nov 2015" analog. We'll likely rip it to 8-9k tops before blowing off back to 6k or so and going sideways for a while.

Picutred are the 20, 50 and 200 week moving averages.
