The hack would have to be exploits from inside Binance, I do not believe that all of the accounts were compromised outside. If it was an API key abuse we would have seen unusual trading activity on some pairs, and effected users speaking up. AFAIK none of this has been discovered. This issue is more serious than it looks, either Binance straight up just stole 7,000 BTC or their entire platform is unsafe.

Best case scenario this somehow was entirely done outside of Binance, (not sure how with 2fa/emails.) But the “SAFU” fund is denominated in BNB so Binance is going to have to dump 42M worth of BNB on the open market. Price probably will dip considerably even in the best case scenario. This pair is wash traded as fuck, It probably just barely clears 42M legit volume in a week.

The way I look at it. I have ETH locked up on Binance. If Binance tanks, that ETH is gone anyway. If Binance recovers, I expect a BNB spike. If you have shit stuck on Binance, you might as well put it in BNB, because if BNB doesn’t spike your money is gone anyway. Just have to find the bottom first.

If we are to believe CZ, when he says the SAFU fund is held in BTC and they have enough to cover the loss, then BNB will spike if Binance recovers from the hack. It shows they can lose $41,000,000 in a single go, and continue to operate. Thats more than can be said about a large percentage of companies inside or outside of crypto. If you have funds stuck on Binance right now, and Binance does pull a Mt. Gox, you arent getting that money back either way. So, the event that caused your money to be stuck on Binance, if handled properly, will almost certainly spike the value of BNB when it is resolved. If handled improperly, and not resolved you lost it all anyway. Seems to me like this would be a no brainer. The only hard part is waiting for the bottom.
