13558857 No.13558857 [Reply] [Original]

A friend of mine told me about the Business & Finance board on 4chan and convinced me yesterday to buy a small amount of coins on coinbase (www.coinbase.com).

I bought £600 of coins less than 24 hours ago, split evenly between Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin. I had to eat something like £9 in fees to buy the coins. Then the price tanked and I'm at £570. I have attached a picture to this post so you can see my current balance. I'm going to sell my coins for fiat to prevent further losses and will need to eat another £9 to do so.

So, in less than 24 hours, with so called "main" coins during a bullrun, I have lost £40 on a £600 investment. I hope you people understand why most normal, financially savvy people don't go anywhere near crypto-coins.

I made a mistake and bought Ethereum classic instead of Ethereum so had to sell it and rebuy the correct coin, which was quite annoying and not well explained. Presumably classic is the original, but apparently not.

option 1: You are LARPing and really got some (((you)))s in your thread.
option 2: You're serious and are complaining that an asset which dropped 80% over the last years completely surprises you and drops 5% in a day after rising 45% since January. Research before you buy.

Not much to it really, I made the most eth with powhcoin and it's successor projects, as well as fomo3d. But honestly it was sheer luck that these projects got the hype they did. The Tron I hold is for their next thing which apparently comes out soonish. We'll see how well I'll fare with that. But all in all: just make sure you understand the projects you throw money at from a deep technical perspective. If something makes no sense to you or you get unsatisfactory answers from the developers, don't go in.
