Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

Jobs numbers indicate economy is overheated while inflation is down. That divergence tells me consumer spending in wavering possibly due to consumer debt. I think the case can be made that this is markets becoming more efficient over time. People are still scared. That said, the equities have more room to run until we get very exuberant. I'd believe a recession is still in the cards based on interest rate inversion as well as the lowered earnings guidance. It's ironically going to coincide with a BTC golden bull run. I project high unemployment with equities never returning to 2018 lows but still losing about 15-20% in early 2021. I'm an armchair economist 30yo boomer who has only lost money so far (slowly climbing back). Studying this market since '11.
Looks like a hanged man doji on the weekly NASDAQ. Could be a slight pullback next week going into a modestly bullish and mostly crabby summer. I see major gains in '20 as we top out.

Not having an RO would mean the company has enough cash to do whatever they need to do

but for a research company with no serious incomes, they have to make money somehow.
this is considered a less-bad way compared to a straight dilution or taking on fat debts at high interest rates.

EPS is pretty meaningless. If the company makes a weak guidance call and beat their own shitty call it's not really worth celebrating.

It's like /smg/ celebrating they won't go -25% today and eod they announce they only lost 8%. They beat their guidance but it's still dis-concerning.

Throughout the entire earning report they kept emphasizing how having a high Monthly Active Userbase is most important facet of their company. However their Monthly Active Users were very lackluster. They had 345 MAU vs 385 of last quarter. Also it was already an uphill battle because everyone expected them to do amazing Q1 and bought up tons of shares and calls. That means a higher volume of people to panic and try and sell off their shares when it goes bad.

Possible updates:
FLR is hitting bottom had a price target change to 56-37$ by citi probably what brought them to 28 but now may be a good time to open a position could go to 27 however on Monday but speculative
INTC-
Dividend is Monday, could either see a sell off or a pick up depending on weekend news. If China deal is talked about it may go up, right now intels success is dependent on China
IQ-
IQ holding from being low and reaching 23 again, either load your boats for earnings which will show increasing subscribers and a possible uptrend in content leading to hopefully seeing 27 again
LCI-
Seeing solid gains up and just hit 5%, earnings may have a surprise in store maybe load up a few and cross fingers
PI-
Holding 28 range, probably going to dip Monday if it closes low or might crab but I think this one is taking a break now so puts could be viable for the 17th

So if I'm not working with a lot of money, should I focus on trading more options in order to maximize my gains while keeping my portfolio diverse? I'm not saying it seems like easy money, in fact it seems like a quick way to lose all your money buying shirt term options that go nowhere, but some of the gains I get from the stocks I own are just kind of pathetic and it really prevents me from having a diverse portfolio while pursuing gains, while my options so far have been pretty stable since I try to buy itm when I can.

a decent amount. yield on cost due to dividend growth means you don't need to save as much but rather let compounding do its job.

Right now i'm at $400K with $21K passive income in dividends and capital gains. Probably going to need at least $1.25M with a yield on cost of 6% before I can safely quasi retire early (will need something or someone to cover health insurance and emergencies).

dividend investing starts slow but compounding really starts to take shape after you have a nice base built up.

AAPL, BA, BLK, CSCO, DOC, IBM, IP, IRM, ITW, JNJ, JPM, KO, LEG, LOW, MO, MSFT, NOK, O, PFE, PG, PSX, SBUX, T, TAP, V, VZ

I suggest spreading it out between all sectors and dollar cost averaging the $500K in over at least 3 years, keeping the remaining in a high yield savings account.

Dividend Growth is more important than starting yield if you have plenty of time. Enjoy the life of passive income, it really helps because you're constantly investing more for doing nothing. And dividend raises give you free money and usually outpaces inflation.

your best bet may just be a vanguard account with their basic market fund. but do research first.

I’d say MO and DIS are golden, as far as having solid and safe dividends, but also incredible potential for future growth. MO’s investment in cannabis and vape is very promising, these guys know how to handle smokables, regulation, and marketing. DIS could see Netflix like growth for the television portion of its business.

Both have short/medium term risks (tobacco and ABC networks in decline) but 10 years out these will have incredible gains, and if you’ve been DRIPing you’ll stand to make real money.

Sekiro was FromSoft, not ATVI. They only published the game.

ATVI has almost nothing going for them. No big new games this entire year. They are pissing off their original fan base to move to mobile gaming and China. They are heavily reliant on their old games, WoW is still a primary breadwinner and its 15 years old and also declining. They've marred every IP they have and its obvious there is a serious lack of creativity among their decision makers.

It might seem like that stock should get back to its 70 dollar range it was not that long ago. I think its highly likely to sink far lower than it is now unless the next Diablo game is a huge hit. And don't count on that. They haven't made anything great in a long time.

He finds limestone rocks and convinces himself they are made of gold or platinum or is a meteorite. Same with coins he finds being ultra rare. nah some days in WWI was on a per-day or per-second basis was absolutely nuts in terms of massacre.
I'm not talking about the up close and personal dude on dude violence that those other things imply, of course
I'm talking about thousands of guys every minute being just destroyed by an enemy they can't see

in a way that wouldn't have been imaginable to them at the time
because the commanders had no idea what the new technology meant, orders were given that caused unbelievable amounts of death

it's a mental thing that the people of the time couldn't comprehend

by WWII, the soldiers and the generals had a better idea of what was going on, so they didn't send tens of thousands of men a day to walk into machine gun fire.
there weren't clearing stations that took up acres and acres with just boys that had been wounded that day in WWII; there were in WWI. But there weren't doctors to attend to all those people because in their planning, they had no comprehension of the level of death that would occur. By the time WWII rolled around, they did. That's all I'm saying.

The American Civil War is similar to WWl in that regard. Technology progressed more quickly than the military philosophy employing it. The exorbitant casualty counts attest to it.

tech stacks had reaction rally day, tsla 4.5% (we'll see if that rally lasts), goog, intl, amazn 2-3.5%

pm lost early gains, bitcorn booming,

year note 2.5, optimal yield would be pretty much 2.5 - 3.8% i think, 2.5 yield -> 4-4.5% mortgage rate that's pretty healthy rate, definitely not bubble like europe with 0%
