Like any old meme and most things that were once enjoyable, memetic power itself went through the timeless death cycle that starts on 4chan and ends up soulless and industrialized at Hot Topic and on boomer facebook

Think of the difference between early 2017 /biz/ and the walking zombie of it we have today.

Early 2017- Endless original content made by people who barely gave a shit and mostly because it was funny. People throwing money at fucking Le Pen Coin or BitBean and actually making shittons from it. Add to that, people got tired of one thing and moved onto the next - continuing the stream of genuinely fresh content.

Now - Endless recycled elements of old memes that got tired ages ago. Some catchphrase that's apparently supposed to be like REALLY FUNNY ROFL I'M SO WEIRD after the thousandth time it's incessantly repeated from people who reek of effort and ACTUALLY give a shit about the consequences of their sad, unfunny, unoriginal content to the point that they pay other people to do it too. No soul. No fun. All forced. All by people who want so badly to be like the old /biz/ that they completely miss the point.

Forced spam and hijacked memes are no match for the raw power of organic and purely aimless shitposting

If you guys are concened about /biz/'s current quality, then look through the archives. I ended up around here in 2016, and saw old aspects of /biz/ transition into crypto.

The "quality" of posts did go down. This is because of the nature of crypto, which brought in a lot of low effort threads, and I don't fucking care that this board was separated from /g/. Crypto did ruin aspects of this board.

But what were "quality" posts/discussion on /biz/? It was primarily repetitive (albeit very educational, and you guys should take a look at iHaz's posts, he was this lawyer who used to frequently talk about index funds on /biz/: >>/biz/thread/414930 - a thread which discusses things like tax credit benefits of international funds, and expense ratios vs diversification) discussions about Index Funds being better than other kinds of funds.

There was more macroeconomic discussion, and stock threads, obviously, but there were surprisingly few of those.

There were people who tried to make frequent Forex/Index/Commodity (using different derivatives) trading threads, but those efforts would often get bogged down by the group-think that comes with the passive investing crowd, and the fact that most people fail (which tends to happen in most endeavours in life, not just Trading; people somehow forget this).

There were decent non-financial market threads, like CV checks/Career path advice threads and drop-shipping. It's sad to see those things never really came back.
