Overall I don't worry too much about it, if a company pays monthly or quarterly it's whatever.
The important part is value and growth, not when they pay their dividend

note that the div yield numbers that you see, for example on RH, are probably just a mark of (last year's dividends)/(current share price). So if you're a true dividend nerd, you will first double-check the company's own press releases to make sure of the actual annual payout, then do research on yearly div change, cash flow and EPS growth, debt levels, etc.
A 'true' investor never trusts the RH numbers ! and always double-checks numbers from any broker.

yes, but understand that monthly dividends are not Qualified Dividends (qualified dividends get special tax treatment at a set percent instead of your income level). Main reason I have a cheap phone is because I'm in the construction field. Phones get clogged up with dust and can drop from high levels, I've had phones drop from 2 story high roofs just to get a cracked screen but I never feel bad about it because my phones are always under $100 so there is no attachment to some device that I'll probably end up breaking within a year. I once bought a phone and a week later I was crawling in the attic, went over a joist and the phone screen never worked right again..

I have an eclectic blend of food stocks, REITs, coal stocks, international stocks, ETFs, all kinds of stuff that achieves a good yield with decent growth prospects. It's pretty diverse but still not as safe as having a couple index-select ETFs. If I really really cared about my returns I'd be less active and less selective. I made a single stupid trade in RH today that accounts for a loss equivalent to 13% of all the gains I made in my real brokerage trading account since October.

RH may or may not be a “scam,” but I sure trade like an idiot when I use it.

If I can’t change this I’ll have to stop using it altogether.

GE is on the Rise after the earning report was upbeat. Bag the cheap shares now while you still can. Once they reinstate the Divvy back to it's former glory those cheap ass shares will be nice to have. Another drug approval coming up, and if the only reason for the hold is just for sloppy lab conditions, then it's just a matter of cleaning it up, getting new data to them, and getting approval. And to add on, as far as I am aware, if that is really the only issue then you'd be an absolute dumbass to take a loss. If you trade on a broker that lets you trade pre market, set a stop limit at what you bought and try and catch the dip, but I think you'd be making a huge mistake taking a loss on this. I might decrease my position in NVTA in favor of buying more calls on this. Glad I opened a long on this instead of sticking with a short term one though that's for damn sure.
