AAPL Earnings Edition

Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

more payouts can be a sign of stability (of course, even a company with unstable month-to-month cash flows can still pay a stable div).
Overall I don't worry too much about it, if a company pays monthly or quarterly it's whatever.
The important part is value and growth, not when they pay their dividend

note that the div yield numbers that you see, for example on RH, are probably just a mark of (last year's dividends)/(current share price). So if you're a true dividend nerd, you will first double-check the company's own press releases to make sure of the actual annual payout, then do research on yearly div change, cash flow and EPS growth, debt levels, etc.
A 'true' investor never trusts the RH numbers ! and always double-checks numbers from any broker.

also, some companies will announce special dividends, which are like a nice one-time surprise
I've caught two of those so far, always gives me the warm fuzzies

yes, but understand that monthly dividends are not Qualified Dividends (qualified dividends get special tax treatment at a set percent instead of your income level). It compounds faster but you may lose that in taxes. I still have one monthly dividend company (O) and I'm thinking about adding more, but the taxes is an issue for me

I can afford an iPhone and don't think I have autism.. I have a $60 Samsung.. it works just fine. I'm posting from it right now.

Main reason I have a cheap phone is because I'm in the construction field. Phones get clogged up with dust and can drop from high levels, I've had phones drop from 2 story high roofs just to get a cracked screen but I never feel bad about it because my phones are always under $100 so there is no attachment to some device that I'll probably end up breaking within a year. I once bought a phone and a week later I was crawling in the attic, went over a joist and the phone screen never worked right again..

One day everyone will wake up and realize it doesn't matter what phone you have as long as it works.

Also.... buy LCI

I wouldn't. Tesla's spreading their resources too thin at the moment. While I don't agree with the doom monger's point that they will run out of cash and die, I doubt at this rate they will ever make it "mainstream", and their market cap do not justify a niche luxury car maker.

Musk had one shot at Model 3, to make good his promise of an affordable mass market EV. He failed. And now he's trying to divert attention away with new models, semis and the AI meme but Tesla is just not well resourced enough to win big at those fields.

I have an eclectic blend of food stocks, REITs, coal stocks, international stocks, ETFs, all kinds of stuff that achieves a good yield with decent growth prospects. It's pretty diverse but still not as safe as having a couple index-select ETFs. If I really really cared about my returns I'd be less active and less selective. GE is on the Rise after the earning report was upbeat. Bag the cheap shares now while you still can. Once they reinstate the Divvy back to it's former glory those cheap ass shares will be nice to have. Hell even if they don't reinstate it; going from $10 a pop to selling at $30 or more a pop ain't bad either. Long term hold

T is my Divvy king. Fat Divvy (2.04) + Cheap shares = Buy Buy Buy! They're debt reduction plan is in full swing and more important it's working all the while without impacting Profit and Divvy Payouts. Long Term hold.

Aside - T has a small ownership stake in LionsGate Films (least it was small, who knows what it is now since LGF stock is in the shit right now)

Buy them both and Hold on Tight; you'll be glad of it when your an old man at 65. Hell with my T babies alone right now I'll be pulling down 30k in Divvy profit. Combined with my pension, 401k, money in the bank, and no debt aside from my house I'll be doing pretty good.

P.S - Plan to buy 100 more T babies next year

So far I've had terrible luck with biotech specs, but that sounds like something that could be fixed with another trial. Possible cheapies? MAYBE? Eventually?

Tomorrow is gonna hurt to watch but you shouldn't take a loss. Just hold until August. Another drug approval coming up, and if the only reason for the hold is just for sloppy lab conditions, then it's just a matter of cleaning it up, getting new data to them, and getting approval. If anything, use the opp to grab some more cheapies.

That being said, it's gonna hurt to watch such a big position of mine basically take me from -4 percent down to probably something like ~10 or ~15, but I'm really not super worried about it.

And to add on, as far as I am aware, if that is really the only issue then you'd be an absolute dumbass to take a loss. If you trade on a broker that lets you trade pre market, set a stop limit at what you bought and try and catch the dip, but I think you'd be making a huge mistake taking a loss on this. I might decrease my position in NVTA in favor of buying more calls on this. Glad I opened a long on this instead of sticking with a short term one though that's for damn sure.

I didn't listen to the call, but from what I've read people saying (just woke up) it's just some manufacturing guidelines that weren't met. No problems with the drug itself. Bears are having a hay day with this, but I think this sounds like free money if you can be patient. I think I'm about to sell off a bunch of other shares of mine and pump into this because it sounds like a pretty surefire bet. The only real bummer is that this gives whales more time to accumulate off retards, and this is gonna put a pretty unknown stock on their map so I guess the approval won't spike like ADMA, but with another drug approval coming up in August, I think now is the time to hold and ignore weak handed faggots.

Lost 4k of my own trading options

God I hate having a sub 100k account. You are basically forced to take risk and leverage if you don’t have a size able amount of money. Being able to make thousands just buying shares and selling after a 5% pump or 3% is nice

When China shows negative results , US will too bcs US cant live without Chyna
When China shows positive returns, it doesnt necessarily mean US will too bcs China can also produce for itself. they have enough people to supply compared to jump 300M Americans

Compounding gains? You would calculate it with
(principal)*(1 + (pointgain/100)^days
so in your case it would be
