Regarding GALT, I think the big price drops are the big players getting the price close to 4 dollars to get all the retail traders to buy with their sideline cash instead of using that cash for the RO. That way they can scoop up the max amount of warrants by taking the RO units declined. Probably hit stop losses and took those shares anyway.

Downside is it means GALT gets only about 50 million from the offering which is half what they wanted.

RO is the rights offering. If I own 1000 shares of GALT then I have rights to buy 1000 units of the RO. That gets 300 shares and 70 warrants. If I decline to buy those units, then the big boys can buy my RO allotment too in addition to their own.

If the price is 4 dollars, which is the floor price for the RO, I can just buy now and forget about the warrants. It's not much for a retail investor and I'm sure the RO process will be a hassle dealing with brokers.
