Unironically did this after the 2008 crash, racked up massive debt keeping a business afloat on personal cards, settled for ~15%. Whats crazy is some people get in debt and then break their back to pay it back when especially if you have no money, theres no actual reason to do so.

It's a high end card ($450 annual) that gives you a lot of rewards when you spend money, mostly travel related. I like it because it gets you into all the airport lounges which is critical if you have a long layover. It's also made of metal which makes it good for flexing.

Retards should not use these cards for sure.
At least get a 0% intro APR card if you're looking to take out an interest-free loan basically.

But if you can take advantage of the sign up bonuses, shit saves a lot of money on flights. Never pay for flights again bro (except on the taxes)

>> No.13455013

>>13454960
You do not have to declare bankruptcy. I had maybe 6 cards or so. Some just sent letters offering 10%-80% settlement offers, I just accepted the small ones and waited out the ones who sent large ones. They sent them 2 years or so after my last payment. It dinged my credit but I already owned a house and could start a new business right after so my credit score wasnt something I needed or have needed since. You can always google "settling debt" and then whoever you owe money to to see what people online have said about settling with the specific company.

Sign up bonus is worth $750 in travel cash, which makes it better alone. Plus $300 year travel credit makes it an effective cost of $150/year. So you'll be ahead of those other cards for a minimum of 4-5 years most likely. At that point you can just downgrade it and start the process over again and get another $750 bonus.

Its all about the sign up bonuses, most people cancel cards once the accumulated the bonus. You just have to find a way to spend the $4,000 within 3 months. If you are already spending that much, its like free money when you get the bonus. I can pay my rent with card, my bills, business expenses... etc.

Yup, I'd say it's only worth it if you're taking at least 3+ moderately expensive ($500+ with flights and hotel) trips per year. The nice part is one of those trips will be almost completely paid for at least.

But if you're a complete shut-in and never leave your room, like I imagine most of biz is, then there's really no point.

Nope, it's beautiful they have no leverage.

First call (After I said I wouldn't pay) they were super tough and said they would ruin my credit and take me to court/garnish wages etc.

I just hung up, when they called back I said I'd give them $100 to clear the whole debt, the guy laughed and said that's never going to happen.

They asked for a copy of my lease agreement (So they could take my shit) I didn't reply.

Few months later I offered $1k they said they'd do a 20% discount (160k) if I paid it upfront. I hung up.

After a few more calls the debt moved to a new place (It was probably now junk status) and they threatened me again, I said I'd pay $10k to clear it (She offered a 60% discount $80k).

I said I plan on moving overseas and said I'd give them my forwarding address and that I'm probably going to claim bankruptcy.

She said they'd consider $10k.

They called back 3 days later and settled for $25k. (I made sure to specify I wanted the debt cleared in full not just a settlement and they had to contact the people I originally had the debt with to ensure everyone understands)

Oh and at one point I asked them to provide evidence of the debt, so they had to do weeks of research and actually sent me a cheque in the mail for $212.55 because they overcharged me in fees 3 years ago. (I audibly keked)

I ain't a cuck, if you owe me money I make sure I get it early, if I owe you I pay as late as possible and negotiate for every penny.

Maybe I have some Jewish blood.

PS I'm 21 and have a $150k+ portfolio due to this.

>> No.13455498

>>13455414

Have you ever thought about WHY that is so? Why would they literally give away "free" money? Because it's securitized, that's why. Derivatives are created based on the expectation that you'll pay these loans back with interest. Funds buy these "bonds" and use them to leverage them for more money.

Basically 1 real dollar creates 10000 "hypothetical" dollars, that only exist on paper and in the scenario where everyone pays off their debt. This is straight up satanic jewry and a lot of people are going to get hurt badly.
