BTC is not future proof, its not even future compliant. Lightning network is a mess, its complicated, its risky, and it will never see mass adoption. When the mining rewards are halved the number of miners will likely decrease, or at the very least, they wont increase anymore. BTC is an investment you can make some money on short term, but I would not recommend holding it more than a decade. At some point it WILL go to $0.
