I have not seen any excitement about Fantom in programmer communities..
I've only seen Andre talk about it, that's pretty much the only technical person I've ever seen mention Fantom, and he's employed by them.. The rest has been Pajeets shilling the shit out of it.

If programmers don't care about this coin, GOOD LUCK becoming the next Ethereum.
Basically all Ethereum's initial investors were technical people who honestly loved the tech.

I am not seeing this with Fantom.
I have a 835K bag, I like the promise, but it doesn't matter if no one will use it to build interesting applications. If programmers ignore Fantom, I'll dump it.

Go look up the Fantom dev team, it's literally a bunch of koreans, 80% of their LinkedIn accounts don't mention Fantom at all, and those that do are dropouts or hired by multiple corporations at once. One of the people listed as one of the heads of the project listed himself as working for a completely different company as of Jan. 2019, if you look at the history there was a large amount of traffic back at ICO and after ICO it was dead silent until recently.

If I were to take a guess it's a korean PND and they're trying to offload their bags, shilling with proxies everywhere they can. Look at the way they talk about it, none of them discuss the actual problems it solves the people talking about it only ever say shit like "LOLOLO MY BAGS GONNA 10X DONT MISS OUT GOY!!!"

If you don't see this as a glaring pnd you're new. I have seen this exact cycle with like 15 other coins. Please, keep holding your bag though. The Fantomarines threads will start soon. Then you'll start saying how it's a long term hold, then tell yourself it'll be a few years and quote Warren Buffet about patience. You are not special, you did not pick a winning lottery ticket like everyone before you thought about their own token that would 100x in time. You will develop sunk cost fallacy and dig your heels in, because anything is better than accepting the loss, even eternal hope.

eth got so many followers because it was the first smart contract platform... when they realize eth can't scale they will move to new projects like fantom that solve scaling problem. it will take time. eth took years to become a multi-billion dollar crypto.

Programmer here. Nope.

The integer stacks are wobly on all sides and I ran some errands on the JSON parser mainframe and it was easily bypassed within mere minutes. And don't even get me started on the unsalted ico development kits floating around... it's horrendous to say the least. They need to start working on flow brief stacks within the coming month to prevent a nutcrack bruteforced by unsavy code like the fantom api boolean bracket that is integrated within the classpath (leading to the system interface algorithm).

TL;DR
It's not good.

Ethereum had 3rd partu dev excitement pretty much from the start, but yeah I see your point.
You're hostility tells me you're insecure of your investment.

See my latest post, I honestly do hold about $10K worth of Fantom, it's not that much money for me so I don't have to run pajeet strategies and be hostile when bringing up legitimate IMPORTANT weakness compared to other projects which have succeeded in the past.

Excitement from programmers is necessarily, otherwise it will all be mental masturbation and low IQ 4chan:ers looking at charts, hoping to escape their sad reality.

excitement takes time, because adoption is an organic, social process. it takes usually one year for devs to get involved. at the beginning it's slower and with increasing word of mouth dev mindshare increases exponentially. have seen this many times. and no i am not hostile or insecure about my bag, i bought 1.5 million at $0.0065 good luck dumping on me fren.

That sounds like hopium to me.
Yeah, I know no one cares if I dump my bags or not.
Just sick of the pajeet shilling threads, to have a successful project you want as many technical people as possible to get in EARLY in the project.

Not a bunch of low-IQ gamblers on 4chan, that's retarded. You want productive people to be the owners when the valuation is low.

If hopium and shilling is your style, keep up with it. That ain't for me.

>> No.13329287

to put things into perspective.... i was there the day the holochain-rust repo was created almost a year ago and I followed the development process very closely. in the beginning things took more time but today we are at over 500 github stars (if that is a metric we wanna take as a proxy for dev excitement / involvement) + many new FOSS devs have joined over time. open source communities aren't created overnight. believe it or not. i don't know how this is hopium, it's just a fact.

the thing is: there is nothing we can say that will change your OPINION if you think it will fail to attract devs. that's the issue with that "concerned" type of FUD... we need facts that we can discuss, not opinions.

i have $90k invested in crypto right now and still shill my bags from time to time. i also FUD my own investments all the time, just for fun. i bought FTM as a hedge in case my other investments fail.

Do you think it's good that people talk about 10x on 4chan while the technical people on cryptotwitter hasn't given this a glance?

Do you think it's good that low-IQ gamblers can push up the valuation to the point where it will deter technical people due to it looking like a bubble shilled by pajeets?`

Call it an opinion if you want.
But when Ethereum got going, looking into what type of people were excited about it the technical person/low-IQ shiller ratio looked MUCH better for Ethereum.
Sure, we're in different times now, post 2017 bubble... But still, these are facts.

I have about $25 - 30k in crypto right now, I'll 4x that if the market cap goes down 60 - 70 %, it still looks pretty irrational to me and there's a bunch of uncertainties like Tether and Mt.Gox funds getting dumped.

fucking this

I checked their github code for 5 minutes and immediately saw that the JSON parser was amateur insecure trash.I didn't check the integer stacks but the way they call their variables and use them way later their call stack must be fucking fried any time anyone wants to use the chain. One RPC call and the whole thing will practically explode. I dived into their protocol buffers and its all complete nonsense and dogshit. I'm not surprised by the shit I'm surprised by how volumous the shit is. The code is truly a mess

leave your echo chamber ffs. people are hyped up about FTM everywhere - why do you act like this is the tradeogre pnd shitcoin of the week??? 4chan was just kinda early, but people are shilling it everywhere by now. andre cronje has reviewed more crypto projects than anyone else and he apparently thought it was good enough to attach his name to the project. andre cronje is based af - he pretty much hates most cryptos except for HOT and FTM.

>Do you think it's good that low-IQ gamblers can push up the valuation to the point where it will deter technical people due to it looking like a bubble shilled by pajeets?
i don't get your logic. it's obviously no pnd, otherwise it would have dumped much harder by now. pump and dumps happen in a matter of days, FTM has been pumping for weeks without significant retracements. support is pretty strong imo. the recent dump was due to BTC movements anyways (and most alts got hit a lot worse than FTM desu).

>But when Ethereum got going, looking into what type of people were excited about it the technical person/low-IQ shiller ratio looked MUCH better for Ethereum.
ETH was a totally different thing. Smart-contracts were new. Not really surprising that most of the talk would be about the tech itself. Nowadays, the talk is usually about how a project will eliminate the tech bottlenecks / scaling issues of ETH. This is also what we see with the TPS discussion around FTM.

>>13329368
LMAO. Andre Cronje the lead dev is a code autist who finished a 3-year CS degree in 5 months + has 15+ years of dev experience + has reviewed 30+ crypto projects. I am sure he can write secure code.

There's surprisingly few programmers in crypto in general. Out of the people I know only I'm into crypto and 5 of them are engineers/computer scientists and one is an economics major. I don't know why but none of them seem interested in crypto at all, I guess they still see it as something people use to buy drugs with and that's it. But you're probably right, most of the programmers/tech people are into ETH.
