Sold out my life, all hobbies and soul some weeks ago

This profession and workload is completely retarded. However, if I were to tough it out for like 4 years I could get an insanely comfy 9-5 and even almost retire in some shithole if I stay here for like 6-8 years.

Should I just sacrifice my late 20s and 30s so I can retire 40? Is it worth it? I will lose most of my hobbies, relationships and physical/mental health

Not worth it.

Get a better work life balance and retire at 50. Better health, relationships, no depression etc

80% of the time it's just making slides and doing excel, so not really

the bigger picture of it is pretty interesting but it's not that great that I like to work past 12pm every day

Just buy LINK.

Also, no its not worth it.

I had a comfy job and lost it because (((profit saving measures))) closed entire division. Took a job working six days a week, pay was better, but a ton more work and responsibility.

I’ve never burned a year of my life si fast, I’ve done nothing but work the past 12 months. Starts to drive you crazy.

Lol dude it's not worth it. I was a trader for 5 years at a bank (GS/JPM/MS tier) working from 8am to 5pm and that's already fantastic by "top job" standards. It's not worth it.

so wait you think not even working 8-5 is worth it? I work like 8-12 if not longer

It all depends on what you want to achieve.
My advice: stay until it looks good on your cv and you’ve built a decent network. But then go out and get experience at other, far more interesting places. in the long run, that’ll be more valuable for your career than rising internally through the ranks. Reason being: you get to see different businesses, you’ll make bigger salary jumps and you won’t have to fight against internal politics and misguided diversion and fempowerment delusions when you’re trying to get that promotion or raise.

what would you say is the minimum cutoff? atleast 1 year? I'm not sure whether I even want to do this until I get my first promotion (2-2.5years)

Just don't feel like being someone else's bitch. But that's just me. If you find a job that really suits you then by all means go for it.
Trading is pretty fun though. Stressful at times.

Do I have any chance at getting a trader job with only a bachelors in finance and kinda shitty gpa? Trading is the only finance job I am interested in desu

But since you think it is not worth it, what do you do now instead?

as long as you sleep well every night and exercise 30 minutes a day its worth it. stick with it for 6 years to get seniority and big companies give slack to senior people when they dont produce as well as they used to by either promoting to manager or hiring an intern to do your work. throw all your money into bitcoin for a 10x in the next 10 years and retire at 35

Give it two years and you’ll be able to waltz into any interview you want after that.
The consultant turnover is insanely high and you’ll get props for roughing it out even that long. The connections you make and variety of problems you’ll explore will be magical.

Depends on the job and the industry. I work in tech, so minimum is a year. Anything below looks suspicious and will lead to question in interviews.

It also depends on your personal situation. If you’re switching jobs every year, you’ll look like a job hopper after the 3rd or 4th job. That can be a red flag for some companies.

I tried to do a similar thing in the Middle East.
Fuck man, I wasted 3 years of my life, ruined my health, and at the end I did not save that much cause the only way to not kys is to spend shitload of money to have a barely acceptable lifestyle. It was anyway a really useful experience, just so I know that I should never do this again and enjoy life more. You need to find a balance, save less money, but live in a first world country, with first world services, with first class food and hygiene.
Avoid spending on stupid things like cars, and focus more on your house which has to be in a very good area.
Possibly choose a city which fits you perfect weather conditions.
