the legendary facemelting GOLDEN BULL edition

Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

Hey 4chan,
First time poster long ass time lurker and discovered the /smg/ board about 2 years ago. I wanted to pitch a concept to anyone smart enough here to listen.
Robinhood is taking the world by storm in commission free trading. Millennials love it, Gen Z is hopping on board slowly and even boomers and gen x are a small client base. So I have decided to go after Robinhood. I wanted to create an app that focuses on commission free trading but offers a FOMO prevention system. I won’t go to in depth about it but the basics is that we all FOMO. Everyone here has had a FOMO moment. Whether that net you profit or losses you still went in blind hoping for a miracle. What I want to do is reduce that risk and attempt to circumvent the psychological aspect of trading and lean to a more technical/news oriented approach.
I have a platform to make the app but I don’t have any connections in the market or even how to approach that.
So I ask here if anyone is interested in joining a kickstarter venture to create a better app than Robinhood.
The reason I chose here to ask is because grew up with 4chan I know there are geniuses and idiots here and my hope is to capture a couple geniuses and maybe an idiot or two to put some work and start a business.
The app will be called STOCKBLOCK.

Riskier now. Their potential future lies inside the next elections time frame. And a lot of people on the left, who could legitimately win, are batshit insane.

I’m screencapping this post thank you for breaking down the problems that users such as yourself have with Robinhood.
Is a customer service system something people really want?
The buy/sell order limit percentage for RH is about -/+.05% so you will always miss in limit order and I plan to improve that
The withdrawals process is ridiculous especially on the basis on money laundering bs
Another point to note is how poor the TA is on RH, no rsi, no momentum indicators, no Bollinger bands or other TA tools. These are things that should have been in the app at launch.
>>13310758
Everyone is a bagholders at some point anon. Even the best lead investor can’t predict the flow of the market and FOMO is still a possiblity. The point of the app is to basically help stop gambling and playing a psychological game and be more informed on a stock rather than blindly listening to stocktwit idiots or jumping in stocks that are climbing only to tank hard due to algos or shady investors.

Anyone else notice that SPY has hard time going above 290? It's like there's invisible wall that prevents it from crossing 290. This is very strange as markets should be efficient and having arbitrary boundaries on numbers makes no sense by definition. Why is there an invisible wall at 290 but not 289? Something fishy is going on. I'm going to do some historical checking and see if I can find more invisible walls. If anyone else is interested let me know and I'll post my findings. Keytruda is going to be a blockbuster cancer drug for sure, this is just more confirmation of that
One of the major aspects of GALT's bull thesis is that galectin-3 inhibitors (GALT's drug is the only galectin-3 inhibitor remotely close to being marketed) make PD-1 inhibitors like Keytruda work better

I now have about 6200 dollars worth of these bonds plus another 2000 or so in a govt bond mutual fund. They earn 3.5 percent returns automatically and if they loose about .5 percent yeild I can get about a 20% profit by selling them. I'll probably buy more short and mid term debt as I feel we are getting closer to a potential crash to maximize how much I can benefit off price swings. Idk if its more profitable to buy the options at the bottom of the pre-ER dump or the day before because of theta?

Then bear is replaced by automation and the stock market becomes stepwise like the Japanese stocks.

Well the issue is this, on the one hand, changing the distribution will also change the inflationary pressures on investment grade assets, the stock market may not have as good growth. But, in terms of the real economy it'd probably be great. The biggest cause of capitalist crisis is the overinvestment caused by capitalist accumulation and the resulting under-consumption and debt.

Your average person living cheque to cheque doesn't often have the capital to start a business, has difficulty with setting up a business even if they have some liquid funds, and doesn't want to hedge everything they've worked for on something as volatile as a new business. Unless someone wants to go house to house in the neighborhood and do landscaping after investing a few hundred dollars in landscaping tools, it's difficult to find work that isn't contingent on an already-existing company. The point is that these companies are going to need less staff in the future, and the population isn't going to decrease to meet this dearth. As things become more automated there will naturally be less work to do unless you're someone in the tech industry, and let's face it, your average joe is not able to gain the expertise to work in these fields.

>Why do you think UBI gives any money to the government? It's a direct wealth transfer from rich to poor?
Who distributes UBI? Is it the government? Cool it is, how do they collect the money for UBI? Through taxes, cool, cool. So after they tax the money from the private sector they then have to pay themselves to administrate and redistribute now what's left of the money (less of the money) to the rest of the citizens.

It's cool you don't get how economics works, taxes, or government programs. Please educate yourself ass hole.

It's inefficient to do that. It would be better, then, to sequester off certain tracts of arable land for farming, and if you were to work a certain amount of time there, you'd be able to have a certain share of the crop or product. You'd essentially be paid with the work you put in on a "socially owned" plot of land. The problem that presents itself, then, is obvious: we'll be then operating in an economy that would be demi-socialist, and this would displease a great number of corporate entities that have an invested interest in being the primary providers of these goods.

It's going to get really sticky, really quickly, unless something is done, either UBI or semi-socialism, and I'm not really quite sure what the solution would be. I think of UBI as essentially being a sort of papier machete fix to a much deeper issue. As much as I'm loathe to admit it, I think that things will necssarily need to go more towards a socialist bent in the future because a lot of these companies are going to be printing money once they have all of the machinery in place to eliminate wage work.

Who cares if its not efficient? The point is we don't really need UBI. People just want to find some excuse to steal from the rich.

Fuck AynRandies, Fuck Raeggers, Fuck bootstrappews.

You guys don’t understand.

It’s a Yang. I’m not one of the high productivity “producers”, but even I wouldn’t quit my job if I had just an extra Yang per month.

You get it INSTEAD of welfare, and in ADDITION to whatever your wages are.

People on welfare are encouraged to stay unemployed, because they lose their benefits if they work. A Yang a month is just a way to keep the lights on and a juice box in your kids lunch while you wait tables.

It would actually encourage people to get off welfare. And because people on the lower end of the economy don’t save, it would stimulate the economy and wind up back in the pockets of large corporations, through the magic of trickle-up economics.

Interesting, absolutely interesting.

But it’s based on giving 2,000 Finns the “no strings attached” money, and only the ones who answered their phones and agreed to a survey, 23% of the people who answered their phones.

I’d imagine that the people who were really trying to get jobs or successfully got jobs are more likely to be the ones who wouldn’t answer their phones or waste time on a survey

This is seriously the best study we have on this? A trial group size of 2,000 and optional telephone survey?

You can have a cash account on Robinhood, you're most likely going to run into the same issues everywhere you go unless you have 25k. Settlement periods are generally not the broker's fault.
