Startup cost is $20 worth of BSF larvae, $20 worth of containers and $10-$100 worth of breeding chamber (made from fly wire on a square frame).

Outgoings on the business are minimal to none. Take refuse/waste from local cafes/grocers for free, convert 50% of the weight into BSF larvae, sell the BSF larvae on the internet/classifieds at the going rate in your country. You'll be surprised how much they sell for per kg.

Once you get enough cash flow/maggots, cut some deals with poultry feed suppliers and invest in dehydrating machines and packaging, this will eliminate waste product and allow you to stockpile dried maggots to sell to grain stores/feed suppliers.

When you start as a maggot farmer, the only way to go is up.

It's the avg wage in the UK or maybe even a little higher. It's extremely difficult to escape the social class you were born into here, just how it is. Once you're working you're basically stuck in the same position, you can't just go back into education as easily - it's fucked.

yes Singapore, what do you mean social class? like nepotism? I came from a poor family but working hard in the uni to earn what I earn right now. I imagine the cost of living of Singapore and UK are the same, with 1500gbp he has the same wage as mcdonald employees and life is difficult.

>> No.13307063

>>13307032
No. The class system in the UK is too long and confusing to get into here but it basically goes like this: You die in the class you were born. There is very little room or possibility to escape the social class you were born into. It's also difficult to go back into education (uni, training, w.e.) once you've started working and are essentially stuck in the wageslave cycle until death. That's just the way it is. It's the same in many places though, it's probably similar to 'poor' countries too.

Working hard is simply not enough, we don't live in a meritocracy

>> No.13307203

Working class Brit here also (27 y.o) but I think you're being very defeatist. It's more to do with confidence/arrogance that people rise. I've known working class bullshitters work their way up to £50-60k despite being low on talent.

I'm on a similar wage to you but have invested in properties over time and am now on £32k as a result due to passive income. I've also put £67k into crypto.

>> No.13307240

>>13307203
You're not on a similar wage then or you live with your parents. Unless you're literally 60 years old there is no way you found 67k to put into crypto on 20k a year.

Just my mother, but bingo. Don't give a fuck about it either; I'd rather be retired at 30-32 than piss my money away on rent and bills.
>Unless you're literally 60 years old there is no way you found 67k to put into crypto on 20k a year.
No offense but no wonder you're financially retarded dude, you didn't even read my post properly. Like I said, I'm 27 and I'm on £32k. I save practically every penny I earn and have done for nearly a decade, I pay £300 'rent' each month and eat very basic meals (rice/chicken) to keep costs low. While I appreciate your living situation may be different to mine for reasons outside of your control, you seem to lack resourcefulness and seem very bitter about it.

>> No.13307315

>>13307269
Well, no, not really. You're just deluded or misinformed about how the real world works because you live with your mum and don't understand how much rent and other bills actually cost. You're sheltered and have no concept of the cost of living without the bank of mum and dad. I'm not saying that to insult you, you're quite lucky, but don't get confused.
>Cheap food
Yeah, that's all well and good, but it leaves an average working class person with *maybe* £300~ after bills on 20k a year. And that's a big maybe.
I read your post but just found it funny how you're claiming you invested on 20k a year. Invested what? You bought rental property with what? Blowjobs? Gtfo, you're either lying or LARPing

>> No.13307362

>>13307315
Like I said in my post, while I appreciate your living situation may be different to mine for reasons outside of your control, you seem to lack resourcefulness and seem very bitter about it. In fact, you're extremely bitter.

You do realise you don't need to buy properties outright and there's something called a mortgage, right? During my teens I played a shitton of MMORPGs and sold the gold/credits I made, which netted me a few thousand a year during that time. I got my first mortgage at 20 after working full-time for around 3 years, and I put down ~£40k. Got my second mortgage at 24; put down ~£60k on that. One thing that I'd totally forgotten about was the fact I made a decent amount from eBay sales; a lot of toys I had from childhood ended up being extremely rare and fetched a high price on auctions. I made over £10k on those.

I would post my Trezor balance but I don't my hardware wallet on me. You just seem to want to wallow in your miserable frogposting cesspit though so it wouldn't make a difference.

No I'm not bitter at all, like I said, you are just sheltered and don't understand the situation for an average working class person. I'm not trying to shit on you for managing to get by and do well, but again, you're an exception if what you are saying is true.
Already your situation is vastly different to the avg working person who does not have 2 mortgages by 24 or 10k on a whim from selling whatever on eBay. The avg person has probably less than 2k in savings and while most of that is down to being retarded with money, even if they saved every penny they still wouldn't have enough to put 67k in crypto. I'm not saying it's impossible but it's extremely difficult to escape your social class, that's just how it is. Once you're in the toil cycle you're pretty much trapped unless you have fortune on your side and manage to make it out by setting up a business, or something. So well done to you, but I'd argue you were never even working class to begin with anyway if you have 10k to throw around and mortgage money by 20, that isn't working class. I don't know of any working class person with a mortgage at 20

The 10k wasn't really on a whim, it was just a very fortunate one-off cash-cow I will never be able to milk again. I had some (very rare as it turned out) Power Rangers / Digimon / Pokemon, etc, stuff from the 90s that fetched a major premium and they're all gone now. However, it's the kind of thing many people might just take to a charity shop or throw away, so it was an example to give you an insight into the underlying mentality about these kind of things. I researched the fuck out of everything I had to ensure I maximised every penny out of them.

I don't know how to quantify the different classes as I've never really looked into it, but I never met my father and my mom is on less than £20k and always has been, so there is no way I am middle class. Not interested in averages and never have been, so forget about the statistics man. I knew I would have to make sacrifices if I wanted to be financially free, so always have done, and most people just don't.

I completely agree about the rent/bills aspect as I mentioned before, and I don't know at what age you moved out, but I feel you could have maximised your opportunities at home more than you did. Again, I don't know your situation and you may have had it shitty so my bad if you did, but how did you not see the toil trap coming and make preparations accordingly, i.e. at least saving up for a house deposit before moving out?
