I've known two personal fitness Instructors who managed to get 100% for "mental issues" by playing the game. That's literally 3k a month for life for jusr breathing. Meanwhile I've seen a guy with one leg stuck with 40% (less than 1k a month). It's a game that wagecucks. pay for.

Yea it was commission only and everyone was a 1099 contractor. So the company signed on as many 1099 contractors as they could possibly sucker into shilling their shit. They basically had this spray and pray approach to marketing to my area. I would literally walk into a local business, introduce myself and they would say "oh you're from [company]? You're the 6th rep who's come in this week. We aren't interested"

I literally talked to a secretary who had a sticky note (she fucking held it up and showed me) that said not to talk to any reps from my company. I knew a guy who walked into a business that had a plushie of our company's mascot (an annoying duck) hanging by a noose from the tiled ceiling.

If its zero commission or 1099 contracted sales, stay the fuck away.

Ive considered internal sales very briefly but the massive failure and horrible experience turned me off to sales completely. By 24 I was working at a bank and now today I'm in grad school paying my way through a masters and working as a data analyst. It's crazy how you can turn things around when you feel motivated

Economics. While at the bank I learned SQL and with my undergrad and grad school I was learning R and Python and eventually charmed my way into an associate position. Once I finish this degree and get a few years under my belt I'm going to be wildly applying to those cushy six fig data science jobs. Tbh if you're in research you probably know Matlab or R and I bet you could land something similar at a company near you. Pay is pretty good, I'm making >60k in a low cost of living area so it goes incredibly far
