Someone give me a quick rundown on ETH. I used to trade BTC but got out last year. Looking to come back in HARD but on a different crypto, maybe ETH?

50eth staked will generate $60k per year by 2020, youll be ok if youre thrifty

ETH is the only project that is tackling scaling without making massive compromises

BTC is unironically a shitcoin with no solutions in sight; they basically ignore first layer scaling and bet the farm on LN - but even with a functioning LN you will still need more than 200k tx/day to support closing and opening of LN channels. In short: BTC is garbage.

ETH can already do everything BTC does better (but better in terms of speed, cost and functionality). With sharding and PoS in the mix there won't even be anything to compare. ETH will be a better store of value because inflation will be lower than BTC and you literally get paid to hold it (stake), and it'll be orders of magnitude faster and cheaper

Anyone with a brain has known this for years though, so don't expect the price to match technological merit (until adoption)

t. 103 eth 0 btc

ETH is a good bet right now. Its going to pump to $190 soon. Long term its also a good bet because, technologically speaking, its far more future proof than BTC. If anyone tells you otherwise, they are lying, or retarded, or both.

Bought another 15 eth just then.

All I can afford right now unfortunately.

Are there places which you can earn money from your eth instead of it just sitting in your wallet?

ETH is so undervalued right now, it's criminal.

It will be the project that takes us to actual commercial use cases, rather than a meme niche application.

$10K within 5 years, no other way around it.

Sure. If half of the ETH was staked it would generate 60 billion per year under such circumstances
Let's be generous and say ETH will generate 60 mil per annum.
Your 60k is now 60 dollars.
50eth staked will generate 60 dollars per year
If you think of it as a boomer dividend stock, then for the return of 0.5%, buckos will pay up to 12.000 per eth.
That's it. Best case scenario.
