Lost my phone with my Google Authenticator app on. What do?

Currently locked out of all exchanges and not only that but I can't even use the "forgot your authenticator" option becase it asks questions I don't know the answer to such as "last deposit amount of x currency", for example. All in all have 25k~ usd on exchanges I can't access

Enjoy sending a picture of your asshole to some chink exchange that barely types coherent english.

dude thanks for the reminder i have to reset my Google Authenticator + make a copy of the backup key.

Are those KYC AML exchanges or did you sign up with your legal name??? If not, good luck making the exchanges believe you are the rightful owner of the accounts... not gonna happen.

had the same thing happen to me anon, but my phone was dead. had to recover all my accounts by going through kyc again.

lesson learned. always back up your 2FA codes on an offline device.

always have 2 google 2fa apps running on separate devices as an extra precaution. they need to be set up all at once though

happened to me a month ago. just contact binance/bittrex/whoever support and they will ask you to send them a picture of your id as well as any information you have on the amount of each coin that you have (surley you must have a rough idea about this, and even if you dont they wont persecute you for this, i was innacurate about some amounts that i said was in my account and the still let it fly)

also binance will ask you for a video saying your 'this is john smith from bigblackdick4@gmail.com can you please unblock my account on 05/04/2019 its stressful but i got through to all my important exchanges and this time when you set up auth again make sure you save the 12 digit password it gives you. piece of cake

You should have been given a received seed when setting up each auth.

Pro tip don’t use google use Authy you can recover all seeds if lost phone not just the google seed.

I had to pay $200 to repair my phone when I realized I hadn't backed up my 2 factor. The phone was selling for $200 new when I had to get it repaired. Backup your 2 factor keys anons.

>> No.13231811

Yeah i learned it a hard way. I found the answers such as "last deposit amount of x currency" in my email, and went through KYC. Wait time was supposed to be a week or two, but i got notification of 2FA reset 15 mins after sending the request, it was on Binance.
Now i make sure to backup all 2FA codes.

>> No.13231821

Binance is ok though right? Like if I lost my 2FA codes and my phone, then I can just send my ID to them right? All the deposits and withdrawals info is on my mail as well.
