there was a study done that shows that the actual circulating supply of xrp is alot smaller than what it is thus inflating the marketcap, those faggots are trying to make xrp larger than what it is.

How is it not a crypto? You're just regurgitating the same uninformed nonsense that gets spread by Bitcoin maximalists.

>>13217594
>there was a study done that shows that the actual circulating supply of xrp is alot smaller than what it is thus inflating the marketcap
That's true of every coin. They estimate 4 million BTC is lost forever, but I don't see anyone rushing to remove 20 billion from the market cap.

>>13217605
>it's volume is always shit
It's usually top 5 or so. Doesn't seem that bad to me. I hope you're not looking at the CMC volume.

Only coin ownership is centralized. Not the way the network runs (Ripple's holdings have zero impact on this).

That's actually pretty terrible. Do you want people to use Bitcoin or not?

>was explained in the previous study.
What? My statement is accurate.

>> No.13218042

>XMR in top 5

One existential risk to XMR that no other crypto has is that the US government would like to destroy it because it can't surveil it and control it. Another is that the US government has a track record of getting what it wants eventually.

Witnesses are selected, but also yea the coins are pretty much all owned by one entity as well. kek

4 million bitcoin lost isn't a bad thing. If you can't grasp this, there is no helping you.

No, it explains the volume.

>> No.13218347

>>13218086
Every node selects the validators they want to listen to for transaction ordering. They also validate every transaction independently.

It's a good thing for price, but bad for adoption. The fact that you can lose your coins forever is one of the biggest downsides of crypto.

Not sure what you're arguing. I simply stated a fact which is that the volume is typically top 5. Much volume is faked, but not to the same extent as coins like ETH and EOS.

A network that keeps losing coins into the thin air can't have large scale adoption because it's insecure. Only speculators wanting to get rich quick don't mind.

Value isn't what determines a coin's success; it's adoption. All governments have to do in order in destroying public perception of XMR is say they're investigating for "possible illegal activities" .

The road to adoption will be an uphill battle against governments. As much as I like the project, that's not exactly a selling point.

If price is determined by supply and demand, and supply is actually much lower than what it is supposedly known to be, then it is actually undervalued, right?
I'm not saying that XRP will shoot up because of this since I think the market mostly finds the correct price naturally, but the guy I replied to made it seem like it would be bad for XRP

>the network “loses coins into the thin air”
I think your IQ has been lost in the air and is now room temperature. Bitcoins are never lost, some can’t be accessed currently due to careless owners. This will change when the wallet protocols become outdated and computers can brute force old keys. This won’t happen for a long time, however. Considering Bitcoins are divisible to the billionth decimal place and there are another two hidden decimal spots in the original code, the circulating supply being temporarily reduced by ~4M is 100% a net price positive. Plenty of satoshis to go around.
