Value isn't what determines a coin's success; it's adoption. All governments have to do in order in destroying public perception of XMR is say they're investigating for "possible illegal activities" .

The road to adoption will be an uphill battle against governments. As much as I like the project, that's not exactly a selling point.

I think your IQ has been lost in the air and is now room temperature. Bitcoins are never lost, some can’t be accessed currently due to careless owners. This will change when the wallet protocols become outdated and computers can brute force old keys. This won’t happen for a long time, however. Considering Bitcoins are divisible to the billionth decimal place and there are another two hidden decimal spots in the original code, the circulating supply being temporarily reduced by ~4M is 100% a net price positive. Plenty of satoshis to go around.
