The alternative is homelessness and starving edition

Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

biotechs produce drugs that treat diseases and save or greatly improve people's lives
while clinical stage biotechs are inherently speculative investments (they depend on the success of clinical trials), your odds can be increased by doing research on the science supporting each company's drug candidates

bitcoin produces nothing of value, the technology has been around for years and time has proven that it serves no purpose other than as a speculative vehicle
blockchain technology itself may be promising, but what's historically happened is that whenever an entity adopts blockchain technology, they just make their own tokens instead of using existing ones
the entire crypto market is a speculative bubble being propped up solely by hype

the only thing BTC is good for is giving Venezuelans a currency and buying drugs on tor

Redpill me on why reddit is completely toxic about nio?

Everytime I post about NIO news on stocks or investing subreddits my post instantly gets downvoted to zero and I get accused by people of astroturfing or promoting a scam. If I try to comment my comment instantly gets negative 3.

Why is reddit so toxic about NIO? Is it because of Tesla investors or people convinced chinese are some type of scammers?

I posted news about how NIO has the investment banks who helped their IPO in a contract where they can’t raise funds for competing EV companies for a year and news about NIO recently beating car delivery expecatations for the first quarter and both post got zero fast and people getting upvotes just accusing me of astroturfing or the company being phoney

Buying what 3-years after recovery? Stocks? (S&P index?)
More bonds?

Do the long bonds or the short bonds get better returns? Does the inversion still count if it was brief and unsustained? Is the model for every inversion?

Maybe I’m starting to understand why it predicts those returns: you liquidate your stocks and hold cash immediately after EVERY inversion, then buy bonds 3 years after the inversion, then put those bonds back into the market when they mature?

Buy back into the stonk market (S&P I believe according to his fancy charts). You have it wrong. You buy bonds immediately after each inversion, then sell them after 3 years for the stock market. If you wait for them to mature, and wait to buy bonds, you miss the entire point of buying during the recovery.

Think of it like this: You have 100 shares of SPY. Sell after inversion, market tanks 50% at some point. It recovers a bit, and you buy back in (3 years always, so you aren't trying to time it). You now own 125-150 shares of SPY at the same cost that you owned 100 before. Had you just held, you'd have less shares and less value. Bonds are held because they're stable.

It has happened to me on small cap stocks enough that I no longer use a trailing stop on spike ups like that. I will take partial profit immediately, then set a limit buy near the day's low. Keep an eye on things from there and see what the dealio is going to be. Just personal observation. Penny stocks sometimes don't break out smooth. You get uncertainty on the initial break in the form of rapid pump, dump, pump, dump twitching before it settles in to a trend. It seems to be more common on technical breakouts as opposed to good news breakouts. On good enough news you just get a flood of buyers and the thing moons pronto.

GE still on the Rise. Up to $10.25 this time. Yesterday we saw him break $10 per share; today he climbed to almost 30 cents higher. Tomorrow? Who knows, perhaps he'll crack the $10.50 mark. All aboard the train says I, soon he'll be hitting the $12 mark leaving you behind.

You know how this will go; 30 per share is not to bold. Maybe not this year or next but at this rate it damn sure won't take 5 years to get to that point. Once they reinstate the Divvy to back to 0.30 we can party like it's the 1980's. The Decade of excess and Profit out the ass, I miss it don't you lads?

T started to dip a bit, now's your chance to strike and bag his Fat Divvy while you still can. $2.04 per share in Divvy Profit is nothing to laugh at, not when you can get it for under $31 a pop. Bag them both and hold on tight, Bag more of them during the Dips and you'll come out alright.

Media mergers are all the rage now. Streaming and content to fill it is the new king. Lions gate has content. They own the starz cable channel, they have a small startup streaming option going. Like I said they are cheap. Some large mega corp could buy them for peanuts and rebrand the Starz channel and flesh out the Streaming platform they got for next to nothing compared with rolling out a whole new system from scratch.

if youre like me averaging on monthly/bi-monthly basis you should start now. Recession might come tomorrow, 9 months from now 18 months from now. Every day with money not in stock is day wasted if youre averaging. You can do 50/50 if you really feel like recession is a 100% opportunity so you buy stock for half your monthly deposits.
What I do rn is I look at stock performance since November, there are stocks that made no significant moves in december which suggests recession-proof behavior in future and some stock jumped of much higher than others which means they will fall just as harrd so I'm glad we got december as a recession benchmark

Never put more in that your willing to lose. Yes the market may be bringing you profit (gains) out the ass for the next 12 months or more but it could also tank and you'd be out every penny you put in.

The fools who put every spare dime in the market are those who wind up first on the poor list. Never rely on the market for your only source of long term financial security. >Does this count as an inversion, now that its reverted?
I'm counting it, as the 3month vs 10yr has been a pretty reliable recession indicator.

>How the fuck do three year bonds increase your returns that much? Are you putting them back into the S&P or using them to buy more bonds?
By selling the stocks at the time of inversion and putting the money into bonds you miss the crash in stocks from a recession while generating a passive income that prevents loss of value due to inflation.

>>13198012
Mostly correct, however the three year is after inversion, not after the recession, so it's closer to one and a half years after the start of the recession.

>>13198099
>Buying what 3-years after recovery? Stocks? (S&P index?)
The S&P yeah.

>Do the long bonds or the short bonds get better returns?
Better to get the long ones so the short ones don't mature before the recession hits.

>Does the inversion still count if it was brief and unsustained?
It goes off the initial date of inversion so I believe so.

>Maybe I’m starting to understand why it predicts those returns: you liquidate your stocks and hold cash immediately after EVERY inversion, then buy bonds 3 years after the inversion, then put those bonds back into the market when they mature?
Not quite see above. You buy the bonds after inversion and then sell them 3 years later to put the money back into the market.
