Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

They might as well be, right now snap, Lyft, Airbnb, all these app IPO’s aren’t worth the price ((they)) are opening them at if Lyft really wanted to make money they would’ve priced soft at 35-40 and seen awesome growth that holds as it is right now yes SNAP and LYFT and even FB on IPO are all just worthless. Profit is down the road but LONG down the road and it’s only going lower everyone know it. UBER won’t price high, at most 60 a share and people will buy it for the name and cap size but other than that speculative. LYFT has nothing to offer the public and literally fucked over a lot of investors so they aren’t popping to 72 again this week, next week, or even next month and you can screencap this.
Technicals are bad. Profit is BAD. Short term is AWFUL. Buy puts and make some real money then buy in when 35-45 comes up and hodl.

Couple dude weed IPOs to keep an eye on for 2019:

Harborside (FLRish). California dude weed. They will list on the CSE as per usual for american state legal weed companies. This one should be soonish. Within a couple months probably.

Pax Labs. Weed focused vaporizer company. They only sell hardware. No actual weed. That's important as the legal situation is easier if they only sell accessories rather than the still federally illegal flower. Listing on the Nasdaq or NYSE is possible*.

Weed companies operating in the US cannot list on major US exchanges due to legality. Canadian companies, like Canopy/ACB/Cron/Tilray can as they only operate sell cannabis in Canada (and soon federally legal hemp derived products in the states). This is why so many of the state legal weed companies are listed on the CSE.

>> No.13189597

>>13188988
Dude weed is completely speculative but also delegated by the fed in that everyone is waiting for legalization. The more legalization it gets, the more money it gets hence why everyone says don't listen to the news about weed because everyone in it is staying just fucking look at CRON man their earning SUCKED any other stock and it would be an INSTANT knife fall but don't expect the same for LYFT or UBER cause there is nothing that helps their case other than profit.
>>13189155
It doesn't matter about market cap, fucking tons of big cap stocks are in the shitter cause of poor earnings, poor technical and poor business. LYFT falls in this category, they can be worth 120 bln but investors are going to short it to 40 anyways and you KNOW I'm right.
Just don't FOMO into these app IPO's right now but puts on LYFT for sure like every other savvy trader is doing and make money then jump in when it looks good the only decent IPO to release has been LEVI regardless of what anyone says.

The stock market is a place where one can buy the rights to receive a portion of a profit that a company generates. In return, the company uses that money to expand their business endeavors. Invstors typically purchase and hold a security for a time period to where it will appreciate in value so they can sell it for a profit. While the investor is holding this stock, they receive payments called dividends which are the profits of the company being held. Indexes like the Dow-Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 are an attempt to come up with different ways to “average” exactly how much money is in all of the stock market at any one given time.

Nobody knows anything about the market. Some people are just better than others at feeding their particular brand of bullshit. That was the first thing I noticed after becoming familiar with all the termionology. Talking heads - economists, analysts, hedgies, VCs, they're all full of shit and trying to pump their interests.

That's why us young folk make such great traders. Our market sense is intuited, it has to be since we don't have 30 years of studying markets behind us to ruin and bias our actions.

This is for a research position, most places I've applied haven't required it. Fortunately, I previously worked as a research assistant abroad for a bit and the Professor was really impressed. The unfortunate bit is that it was research in a pretty different field which is a shame since he's got some insane connections.

As for going back, I would have staid if my appointment wasn't temporary or if there had been a position open then. This is another temporary appointment but a bit longer, about three years. How do buyouts work when someone holds 51% of the shares? Does that entity get to set the price per share for the acquisition and all the other shareholders have to go along? With biotech in particular would it be expected for the buyout price to be less than the 1 year price target if all of their projects are still in the pipeline? Would it be a question of how much confidence the 51% holder has in their science?

the buying company buys all the shares either way
the price per share is something that both the major shareholders of the company/insiders and the acquiring company agree to

How can you believe in Tesla?

Electic cars suck, just thinking alone about the charge up time. I don't have a fucking 1hour+ to charge up my car at the very limited spots I can even do that a few times a week, thats ridiculous.
These cars take away your freedom of movement and are stupidly expensive.

It takes about 1hr~ even their advertised "super charger" that says it should take about 30min is exaggerated.
Also if more cars than 1 start charging at the same time obviously it would take even longer.

If you wish to charge your car at your regular outlet then have fun with your 5-10hr charge up time.

Plenty of people actually don't drive very much in the city, but most of them can't afford a Tesla.

The thing that kills the """green""" electric movement for me is the batteries. They aren't enough. They don't have the energy density, they are toxic when depleted, they don't last long enough, they don't charge fast enough. This goes for cars as well as power generation. Wind, solar and hydro cannot power an economy alone without a massive change in battery economics, period.

I'm gonna guess (you) are mutt. It refers to last Rammstein song I can not stop replaying because they went so deep into Germanic identity. "German uber alles" in song like this would not be able to pass censorship of sort (theres an institution that reviews radicalism like that). On top of that you clearly don't get the meaning of this line. I frankly think it's genius. By replacing one letter you change "Germany above everything" to "Germany above all", can be loosely translated as word play meaning "Germany above us" (referring to Germany the state being above us the german people, fits text perfectly). And on top of this genius word play you can have whole public yelling GERMAN UBER ALLEN on concert and I can tell you not everyone will be replacing alles to allen yelling that. This really hits the spot about political correctness and polarization of German society in our times .
