whats the point of buying GRIN if its supply is INFINITE? are you guys retards?

>> No.13177039

I told my dad that “Bitcoin makes sense because it is deflationary and the US dollar is terribly inflationary.”

his response was that “all the new coins like LTC and XRP are hyper inflationary”.

i think he is unironically correct.

the inflationary/deflationary/emission arguments are fun concepts, but they are pretty pointless when it comes to valuation.

>> No.13177047

>>13177039
clarification: the entire crypto space is hyper inflationary. divide the market cap of the whole space by the number of coins from ALL the projects and you get that idea.

>>13177039
how can this have value if its inflationary as fuck
at least monero is capped at 21million and after that slowly produces mor emonero

>> No.13177352

>>13177162
Yes, a lot more inflationary than monero:
0.3 XMR/min VS 60 GRIN/min
That is 200 times more emission per minute

>>13177039
xrp is deflationary, your dad is a discord tranny.

>> No.13177559

>>13177410
yes but xrp pulled a lot of BTC market cap away so the XRP coins should be seen as an addition to BTC emissions. crypto, taken as a whole, is infinitely inflationary.

It's not though. The asic resistance fight is though. Seeing fatpony give up is sickening

yes, but theres an important distinction:

bitcoin is scarce
but altcoins have infinite supply

so what if all the world’s fiat goes into crypto.

then, what do you imagine will be bitcoin’s dominance %?

Holy fuck you are all retarded. The inflation of grin approaches zero asymptotically, because the amount of tokens created per day/month/year will eventually be negligible RELATIVE to the total supply. Block halving only serves to give a larger proportion of the btc to a small minority of miners. Satoshi was the only miner for a while and was mining 50 btc blocks, effectively giving himself a premine. Grin is correct, this is the fairest and simplest way. Grin is probably the most respectable project out there.

Forget inflation, the coin is good and under marketed. It will keep getting traction. Bitcoin's inflation has been higher than USD and other currencies upto this point

>> No.13179127

>>13179007
The point is that right now we want to secure the nascent network, and that means incentivizing miners. If you want to invest in grin, buy some gpus, start mining and dont sell any of your grin. In 10 years grin inflation will be like 1-2% and then it will be a speculators game (as bitcoin is now)

>> No.13179694

>>13179127
sounds like grin will be the first coin that is truly mined by everyone, forever.

>> No.13180193

>>13179694
nope, in 2 years, only asic developers like bitmain will be mining grin. it's why grin is fucked.

>> No.13180230

Yes, nothing is private in BTC and ETH. Imagine getting salary in BTC and everyone around you knows what your salary is. Ain't gonna happen. Also, both BTC and ETH are too old to change. Imagine asking people to do 2-3 transactions to incorporate privacy. We need privacy at the base layer. Also need proper coin distribution.

Grin for life. Selling at 3x or not selling to Bitcoin OGs.

Inflation doesn't matter as much when a coin has as much potential.
